Departmental Report - Radio
At 3ABN Australia Radio we aim to operate under the vision that was given by God to 3ABN Founder and President Danny Shelton to present “the undiluted Three Angels Messages to Counteract the Counterfeit”. Our programs cover health, conversion stories, personal testimonies, Biblical discussions, family topics and children’s stories, to name a few.
These programs are available 24/7 with a growing number of FM broadcasters being added to the network here in Australia and New Zealand. We now have over 100 low powered FM affiliate stations, as well as an AM station, that are broadcasting 3ABN Australia Radio’s programs, helping us spread God’s good news.
In our last newsletter we solicited your prayers to ask God to help us expand our FM radio network. The good news is that God, through your prayers, has added another 20 stations to our radio listings.
You can also listen to our broadcast via the Internet. Or you can download our 3ABN app or the TuneIn Radio app and listen to us wherever you have mobile phone data coverage.
September is another exciting month for radio as we are launching three new programs. These are:
1) Unchained
Short 10 minute episodes hosted by Pr Rod Anderson from The Orchard Church in Melbourne. These present a strong defence for the teachings of the Bible.
2) The Ministry of Healing Book Reading
Rosalie Rickards presents a new book reading featuring the Ellen White classic, “The Ministry of Healing”. It follows the new Unchained program (see above).
3) Family Story Time
A 30 minute “first-person” account of Bible stories told by Karlie Fraser. To prepare these presentations, Karlie researched deeply into the stories. This is followed by a topical Bible Study presented by Christopher Petersen and Jesse Marks, theology students at Avondale College of Higher Education.

Focus on God’s Word – Live audience
Last month we were blessed to record six TV programs on the Reformation as part of our “Focus On God’s Word” series. The presenter was Graham Weir, a lay preacher from WA. We are very grateful to those who came to be part of our live audience. Many said they enjoyed the presentations. In fact, our audience was larger on the last day of taping than at the beginning! They also liked our new video wall which is comparable to an 8m x 3m TV screen. It makes the slide images look fantastic. A live audience will also be required in mid-December. 3ABN Australia Comments
A lady phoned from NSW stating that 3ABN “is my worship, learning and singing. I watch all the Christian channels, but I have turned away from some of them as they are not following the Bible. Instead of going to church, I have been staying at home and reading my Bible. The Holy Spirit is revealing things to me in the Bible, especially on the Sabbath day.” She said, “I have wasted decades of my life and I thought that there was no true church, but I am drawn to the Seventh-day Adventist church because they keep the Sabbath.” She said the Sabbath has been holy from the beginning.
A caller from QLD phoned after discovering 3ABN on VAST.
He said, “I just have to say how much we are enjoying the programs on 3ABN. We live in an area that does not get commercial television and I just discovered this channel on the satellite (VAST). All the programs on health etc, it just covers everything. All churches should be following this model. It is all very well to read your Bible and pray, but what about health and other things. We are just so excited to have found 3ABN and run the channel 24/7.” He asked if we were going to keep going with the channel and we assured him we are planning to. He was so pleased and could not thank us enough for what we are providing with 3ABN.

A 3ABN Australia First – Praise God!
Last week we received a DVD order from a VAST 3ABN Australia viewer. We are so excited as 3ABN Australia has been on VAST for less than two months. People are finding this channel and are being blessed by it! May God help many more VAST viewers channel surf and find channel 603!

A Word from the Assistant to the General Manager
Israel Tour:
Pr Jim Gilley’s 32nd tour to Israel is scheduled for the second half of November. He loves taking people to Israel as he knows it opens up a brand new view of the Bible to those who join him. There is so much to see and experience. A small contingent from Australia will be joining those from the US for this year’s tour. There is still a small window of opportunity to join the tour but all fees must be paid by early October. Costs should be around AU$5,000 to $5,500. Please phone if you are serious about going in November. We can email a brochure to you or you can pick one up from our office.
3ABN Australia’s 14th birthday:
Just a couple of Sabbaths ago 3ABN Australia turned 14 years old. On August 26, 2003, John and I registered 3ABN Australia as an Incorporated Association in Western Australia, at the request of 3ABN USA. At that time, John and I were installing the large 2.4m mesh dishes for Thaicom 3, throughout Western Australia. In October 2003 we set off on a four month adventure in our green 4WD, called “Kermit”, to promote 3ABN around Australia. We installed many large dishes in every state. Then Danny Shelton signed the contract for Optus B3 in March, 2004. That’s when 3ABN REALLY took off, both in Australia and New Zealand, as the smaller dish made it possible for people everywhere to afford to buy the equipment and have it installed.
Look what God has wrought since those early days! Now we have the 3ABN Australia studios in Morisset where we produce Television and Radio programs that reach people around the world with the everlasting Gospel. Our locally-produced programs are not only on Optus D2 but also VAST, the Internet, and phone apps. Our Radio reach continues to expand. We praise God for what he has done for, and through, 3ABN Australia. We are also grateful to everyone who has donated to help us spread the Gospel through programs made at this special facility. May God alone be praised!
