Delve into the history of British nuclear power with this week's top book prize
Hi everyone,

Well, we're into the second week of September already but I think I can just about get away with still calling it 'the end of summer' (not yet an Indian summer though, judging by the winds whipping past my window as I write - hopefully some sunny September days are just around the corner).

We've had a great response over the past couple of weeks to our book giveaway and we're finishing it off in style with an excellent book by another contributor to The Atom: A Love Affair, Dr Simon Taylor, an economist at the Judge Business School in Cambridge.

This week, we've got a fantastic TEN copies to giveaway of 'The Fall & Rise of Nuclear Power in Britain: A History'

"A terrific piece of work...far greater & more devastating detail than anything else so far in the public domain" - Lord Howell, former Secretary of State for Energy

Simon was a brilliant interviewee, particularly on the tortuous process of privatising British nuclear and the financial woes and near-bankruptcy that ultimately ensued (the subject of his previous book). He's a clear-sighted and rigorous thinker and someone definitely worth reading if you want more detail on the nitty-gritty of the politics & economics that have shaped the story of nuclear power in the UK. Many thanks to Simon's publishers UIT Cambridge for generously donating the prize copies.

Entry is simple - just go to tab.fo/atombook3, fill out your details and hit 'Sign up for updates' (you need to do this to enter, though you're obviously already getting updates), and then click the button at the bottom to confirm your entry.

Good luck!
