Is everyone as happy as me to see the rain...
My only hope is that the rain helps out all those forests and homes still in need with all of the wildfires in BC...
No and what has happened this summer.

Not only did it affect the livelihood of families and friends...
It affecting those who have cottages and cabins in some more remote BC regions...
Affecting travel plans for many.

It also affected the summer of many of our first response members.
I know many Police officers, fire fighters, fire personnel, helicopter pilots and many, many, more who worked extremely long days trying to keep our Province safe. To everyone who has helped in anyway be involved in assisting any part of this major catastrophe, THANK-YOU.

Hopefully, we get enough rain this weekend to pull through this and move on to enjoying one of my favorite times of year...Fall.

Fall is a time for me to personally enjoy our beautiful forests with the wonderful colours of this time of year.
In the wine world, it is an extremely exciting time as we await the most important time of year to ripen our grapes...
This time of year is ultimately what decides the 2017 vintage.

We need rain first...
But following that...
We need sun...
And lots of it...

We need a long, hot Fall to ripen all of those grapes so we can Harvest.

We are excited to today have our first offering of a showcasing of some "Winter Whites" and Organic wines.
You will get to taste a great line-up of wines today from 3-6pm and as always...our great offering of Charcuterie and Wine Flights to enjoy after your tasting.

Tomorrow we have Winemaker Jim Faulkner from Mt. Boucherie Winery pouring in store. I literally had a glass of his Merlot Wednesday night and had to text Melannie because it was just so...da*n good.

Two tickets only left for tomorrow's Library Series Tasting with Jim Faulkner of Mt Boucherie. He is pouring 4 verticals of Riesling and 4 verticals of Summit Reserve, their Big Bordeaux blend.
One time opportunity. Take advantage of this!

Also, we are featuring our Fall Release Party on Sunday afternoon, Sept 24th from 2-4:30pm. We will be featuring wineries, culinary Fall delights and a fundraiser for my daughter, Tatum going to compete in the IDO World Championship Hip Hop Competition in Denmark on Oct 15th, 2017. Please come out for this wonderful event and support this effort! Tickets are $49 per person and just got released!
Limited supply...

Cheers and Happy Fall,
Kim Murphy

Organic Wines!

Summerhill 2015 Organic Riesling  $23.99+taxes
BEST SELLER~LIMITED PRODUCTION

Grown organically at the Summerhill Estate in Kelowna, and at the Manz Estate in Naramata. Grapes were hand-picked over multiple days, whole cluster pressed and fermented cold. Natural unfermented grape sugars balance beautifully with the crisp acidity. Pairs wonderfully with white fish, honeyed ham, spicy dishes, and apricot-flavoured soft cheese. Pair with egg dishes such as quiche, frittata or omelet. Also try pairing with seafood, salads and tapas style meals or just enjoy as a sipping wine with friends.

Hugging Tree 2014 Viognier $19.99+taxes
A crisp and clean delight to the senses. It has a bouquet of citrus, green apple, honey, and hints of apricot. On the palate you will find notes of pear, apricot, and lemon-lime, with a balanced finish. It’s no wonder it’s one of our most popular wines. This is Walter’s personal favorite, and a warm afternoon favorite for the rest of us as well .- Bradley Makepeace, Winemaker

Bartier Bros. 2014 Chardonnay $28.99+taxes

Very complex and savoury aromas of sage, truffle oil, and grapefruit show on this wine with a subtle smokey frame. These follow through on the palate which is quite full bodied , but with a refreshing contrast of acidity to brighten the texture. Typical of wines from this vineyard there is a long chalky finish.

Haywire Gamay Noir 2016 $28.99+taxes
NEW VINTAGE RELEASE
Ripe strawberries and raspberries intermingle with a creamy palate from concrete aging over 11 months on gross lees. Gentle tannins and fresh acidity help to carry the very lengthy finish. Harvested October, 2014 and fermented in large concrete vats, punched down by hand twice daily then pressed after a long, four-week maceration. We then aged it in Nico Velo concrete tanks for 11 months. No racking, no filtration.

Sperling Vineyards 2015
Old Vines Foch Reserve  $33.99+taxes

BEST SELLER~PERFECT FALL RED

Our Foch vines, planted in the 1960s by Ann’s father Bert, produce low yields with intense, complex flavours. Very dark purple throughout, slight haze. [A nose of] fresh earth, carved roast beef, pastrami, Cassis and roasted chestnuts. Very intense concentration with black cherry, black currants, roasted almonds, stewed dates, and a good lashing of dark, dusty cocoa on the finish. An excellent example of this heritage hybrid variety, potentially one of the best in the country. This rustic wine is made with smoky BBQs and long summer evenings in mind; or hearty braised dishes and cold winter nights. Pair with New York striploin, bison tenderloin, Tandoori chicken, dark chocolate, stinky cheeses.
