Successful Parliamentary Briefing

Yesterday we took the Make Renting Fair campaign to NSW Parliament House! Around a dozen Members of Parliament or their representatives attended the Parliamentary Briefing and heard from campaign supporters.

Thanks to all of you who got in touch with your local MP!

Personal contact with your local MP really works – they need to pay attention to their constituents. If you haven't yet emailed or called your MP, it's still a great time to do so! Amendments to the Residential Tenancies Act are coming soon – tell your MP that you want to see an end to unfair evictions. Check out our campaign resources page for background info and contacts.
Yesterday's Parliamentary Briefing was hosted by Jenny Leong, David Mehan and Alex Greenwich. Special thanks to Sydney tenant Georgie, who came along to share her own experience of a recent unfair eviction. What a legend!
Thanks also to Kellie from Women's Legal Service NSW and Jack de Groot from Vinnies NSW for sharing their expertise and perspectives, and showing the breadth of support for Make Renting Fair.
The Parliamentary Briefing opened up opportunities to start some real conversations with politicians from across the parties about the need to end unfair evictions. Help us build the momentum by getting in touch with your local MP and sharing the Make Renting Fair petition with your friends.
