Now for the important stuff. I nine million percent hope that you made it through Harvey (and Irma,and Maria, And the earthquake in Mexico, and Japan), and that if you are in a situation where you need love or support or a massage for your tired and exhausted body/mind that you send a return email and we will get you on the schedule.
Yes, I retired. Yes, I still love you and am dedicated to your healing. That isn’t going to change.
So having said that, let’s catch up.
I had a rough entry into midwifery. Parsley died, Trey and I dissolved, I moved out of my cool AF house, and then the kicker was my mother died.
Whew. It took me a little bit to come back from that. A strong tribe, daily recovery meetings. The works. #himynameisRowan

Now for the good news.........

I’m thinking this midwifery thing is really going to work out. I’ve been working and apprenticing with Shannon Stellhorn at Sacred Journey Midwifery and you might have noticed some pics of me and BY me on her social media pages. Shannon is really such a highly skilled midwife, a lovely woman, and incidentally contributed mightily to me staying on the wagon and on the steady with the midwifery journey. #somuchgratitude
Starting in the New Year I’ll be hopping over to join Jackie Griggs of Bay Area Birth Center who has a Heights office and is opening a birth center in Beaumont. Sooooooooooo connect with her if you’d like to have me on your birth team after 1/2018.
Not having an out of hospital birth? No worries, I’m still doulaling and I'd love to doula you! Let's do(ula) this!
Other items of interest is I’m living in an Airstream now. Here is a hilarious picture my sister Dr.Blythe took of me painting while Tod supervises. I swear he wasn’t mansplaining me something.
And on the Airstream, I’m using it like a glorified dorm room, with desk and computer setup, micro recording studio, and soon to launch an online prenatal massage course. I’m hearing a bunch of “all the peeps at (insert birth center or community or tribe) are gnashing their teeth and wringing their hands cause they don’t know who to send their clients too anymore.” And the local prenatal massage scene is WEAK. My goal is to get an awesome prenatal LMT in every neighborhood. I should be launching Oct 7th, so I'll send the deets when its up.
