More from the Aladdin's Cave of cookbooks! A few weeks back we sent out a couple of emails from the treasure trove. Everything went in a flash; but there is more.... lots more in fact. We spent the best part of this miserable, damp day in the basement sorting & reading some of the treasure trove.

(If you missed our previous emails , an opportunity came up to clear part of the stock/personal collection from a book retailer who closed their store some time ago.)

We could not believe it when we found some of these! Two of our most requested ever out-of-print titles - Tetsuya; from the master of Sydney fine dining & Any Once Can Cook by Annabel Langbein - one of the best books we have ever had for teaching "how to cook". Annabel's building-block approach to the recipes in this book means that a simple idea - whether a key ingredient or a flavour base - can be expanded into many recipes. For example, her teriyaki marinade makes not only teriyaki chicken and salmon kebabs but also chicken and vegetable noodle stir-fry, sticky spareribs, flavoursome sushi and Asian chicken salad. The recipes sound exotic and interesting and certainly they deliver this in taste, but the beginner cook will not be challenged in succeeding.

More copies of Rick Stein Food Heroes Another Helping which is one of our all-time favourite books. Plus Stephanie Alexander & Maggie Beer, Peter Reinhart, Peter Gordon, Julie Le Clerc, Neil Perry....
