Proposed Development in Ward 8

Development Details

The proposed Amendment to the Zoning By-law for lands located at 512 Big Bay Point Road would permit the construction of a parking lot to serve an existing thrift store.

The property is legally described as Concession 13 Plan 1019 Lot 12, City of Barrie, and is located within the Painswick North Secondary Planning Area. The lands are designated Residential within the City’s Official Plan and are zoned Single Detached Residential R1 in accordance with Zoning By-law 2009-141. The applicant has applied to re-designate the lands to Commercial and to rezone the lands to General Commercial C4.

  • Information about the City's review process and timing.
  • An opportunity to meet the applicant, City staff and ward councillor.
  • Ask questions and provide your comments and/or concerns regarding the proposed development.

What not to Expect

  • City staff recommendations on the application or a detailed analysis on the proposal (this will occur later in the review process).
  • A debate on the merits of the proposal between City staff and the applicant.
