The Salmon Are Running!

Don't miss See the Salmon Run, back for year 2! The Chinook have been spotted, fighting their way up Silver Creek. They're coming and you will see them! The rain we're getting today can only help. And Saturday is forecast to be sunny!

Check out the great press we're getting in local media. Stop by our window display at Collingwood Town Hall. Or tune in tomorrow (Tuesday) morning at 8:30 as we talk about the event on 95.1 The Peak FM. But whatever you do, come to the event!  There is parking on site this year.

The event takes place Saturday, September 23rd between 11am and 4pm. It's close by: just across Osler Bluff Road from the end of 6th Street. There's a gourmet lunch, there's beer, there's fun for kids.

Nature Walk
The centrepiece of the event is a 15-minute self-guided nature hike through the woods along Silver Creek. Adults and kids can stop at 4 locations where conservation experts will be on hand to add to your knowledge of fish migration and spawning, and stamp kids’ fish ‘passports’.
In-depth spawning/environmental information is provided by the Georgian Triangle Anglers, Ontario Streams and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry - all strategically located along the trail.

Gourmet Lunch
It's educational, it's fun for kids and adults alike, and you can can enjoy a delicious shore lunch (Kolapore Springs trout!) for $10 and local beer from The Collingwood Brewery ($5). Kids 8 & under eat FREE! (Lunch ends at 3:00 sharp.)

Fun for Kids
Children are guaranteed a good time, with giant inflatables and interactive games courtesy of Elephant Thoughts and the NVCA. Kids also get fish 'passports' and earn stickers as they move along! Bring the kids, bring the grandkids, bring yourself!

Location
The event will be held at the Foley property, 609830 12th Sideroad, just across Osler Bluff Road from the end of 6th Street. See the Salmon Run is sponsored by Kolapore Fish Hatchery, The Gosling Foundation and The Nature League.
