What Motivates You?

With the 2017 Mr. Olympia reaching its conclusion for another year, it is the perfect opportunity to sit back and reflect on the amazing things I have going on in my life.  I also want to thank all of you for keeping up on my Olympia trip with my good friend Shaun Quintana.  It was a well-deserved road trip.

As you saw I got the opportunity to catch up with old friends and clients enjoying my time there and being around great hard working people who love what they do.  We all go through things where at times, you just have to capture and live in the moments before life blows by.  We must learn to not be afraid of what was or what could be, and just live life to its fullest.

I thought very hard about competing again, as I love this sport dearly.  But I am also at a point in my life where I want to experience life and travel more.  Eating healthy and living fit is what I do.  So I will wait till next year for the Masters Nationals.  With that being said, I love this life style but, I will also learn to enjoy my life as it is happening.

Very few people possess the internal drive to keep going when things get tough, which is why most don't ever reach their full potential.  Yes, we can talk about nutrition and training programs, however without enough drive and determination those things won't make you reach your full potential.  And neither will those excuses!

You need to decide exactly what is motivating your drive within, what keeps you going at all times?  Only you can truly get to the bottom of what is driving you forward.  Maybe it's to improve your health, have a better quality of life or to achieve a result on stage, or like myself… travel more and enjoy being in shape while doing so.

The crucial bit is that this thing, this reason is significant enough to keep you moving forward when things are not't going your way.  You can achieve amazing things with enough self-belief and determination!  I truly believe in you and I hope you do can believe in yourself as well!
