6 weeks to the Gong

time to get training!

Thanks to your hard work, we're sitting in 6th spot out of over 500 teams in this year's Gong ride - awesome!
Keep up the good work - all funds go to help ease the pain that this terrible disease inflicts. When you're emailing your buddies for sponsorship, be sure to mention we have just raised over $1.2M collectively in our 12 years - Impressive!

Ordered your jersey yet? You'd better hurry. We've only ordered minimal numbers to avoid carrying excess stock (which means less we can donate to charity). Members automatically get a 15% discount. This years jerseys have been done by Two Monkeys Cycling and are fitted jerseys - so if you like it a bit baggy - then order a size up!

Bus, Hotel, Dinner

your premiere carb loading session

Bus

As always, there's a bus organised to take us down to Sydney, and back from the Gong. What's that mean? It means you can get on the sauce cos you're not driving! Book your spot and let someone else do the driving while you do the drinking.

Hotel - Ibis Budget St Peters

We've secured 19 discounted rooms at the Ibis Budget near the start line. And let me tell you, when they say "Budget", they mean it! Book through the Cogs site as a member to secure your discounted rate (approx $30).

Awards Dinner

Our Awards Dinner will be held at Southern Cross Hotel St Peters, Saturday 4th Nov. Enjoy a 3 course meal whilst we celebrate the year and get a glimpse into what's in store for the Cogs in the next year. We've got some great prizes on the night, including a Crowne Plaza package thanks to Tricon. More importantly, it's where we announce the winner of the Cootwalski Award - get your nominations in.

Cootwalski Award

WTF is a Cootwalski?

Glad you asked. It's a clumsy creature. One who keeps running into walls, bumping their heads or, when on two wheels, keeps casing themselves (regardless of dirt or road). We pay homage to this soon to be extinct creature by naming an award after it, which celebrates the person who has an above-average crash rate.
If you know of someone who fits the bill, nominate them today and a general vote will be undertaken at the Awards Dinner on Saturday 4th November.

Stace's Beers & Bowls

Last month we introduced you to Stacey Hartcher, first time rider with the Cogs who is living with MS. She's invited all the Cogs to attend her Beers & Bowls day with all proceeds going towards her Gong Ride campaign.
