Summer is over

Welcome Autumn

Ca l’Antiga inaugurates 2017-2018 season by coinciding with the beginning of autumn - precisely on 22 September at 20:30 - to close a deadly and hot summer, a summer that has been sad, very sad. Here in the Maresme region we expect anxiously the ‘rentrée’ of nature. Here beside the Mediterranean the mountain breaks away from the dry summer and becomes greener with, here and there, a bit of ochre, little, scattered. This isn't a show of apotheosis, but it is vital and opens the door to a fertile and green, even warm winter.

Anniversary

Parc de la Serralada Litoral
25^th Anniversary

Ca l’Antiga is closely attached to the mountain, protected by the Serralada Litoral that became natural Park in 1992. Therefore this year we celebrate its 25th Anniversary.
The Park of the Serralada Litoral was created to protect, restore and expand this natural area on the basis of scientific analysis and research and experienced practice of traditional and innovative techniques.
Ca l Antiga wishes to join the celebrations of the 25th anniversary with an artistic approach by inviting a three artist that will show us their own vision of the mountain, the forest, the trees, their light, their colors...
These three artists are: photographer José Antonio Sancho, sculptor Pere Baguena and a multidisciplinary artist, Alejandra Rubies.

José Antonio Sancho, photography “Imaginant la Serralada Litoral”
From 22 September to 22 October 2017

The photographer José Antonio Sancho, living in Masnou, did photographs for years in faraway forests fascinated by their appeal, the mystery they exude, but he did not repeat the experience in our Serralada maybe because it’s very close and his walks too normal and frequent to the point that this naturalness neutralized his interest as artist, as photographer.
José Antonio said: “Cuando uno se adentra en el bosque en solitario enseguida te das cuenta que no es un territorio amable a pesar que durante milenios hemos intentado domesticarlo, convertirlo en lugar accesible, no obstante hay algo que fascina, es como adentrarse en la propia psique…”.
The works on display in Ca the Antiga from September 22 to October 22 are as brushes made at the leisure of random walks to discover pieces of nature untouched or rebel.

Exhibition

Pere Baguena, sculpture "Nervacions orgàniques”
From 27 October to 19 November 2017

The sculptor Pere Baguena loves working with wood to bring out its organic structure. His work looks as plowed by the elements or predators. Air, water, insects, transform wood, however, a transformation made by a hand of artist can help us to understand the difficult balance between nature and man who, while seeking beauty and leisure irreversibly alter the organic clock.

Alejandra Rubies "Joc poètic de llum i aigua”
Friday 10 and Saturday 18 November 2017

Alejandra Rubies expresses herself through visual arts and performing art. Her complicity with the sculptor Pere Baguena pushed them to play with the volumes and images of the sculptures so that we can imagine them turning to his natural environment of the forest with water, light, and poetry.

Exhibition

Pati Baztán, painting "Estudis sobre el vermell”
From 30 June to 30 July 2017

This summer we have proposed an exhibition by an artista that avoid the easy way. Pati Baztán's paintings go deep in plastic art fundamentals, for instance, color. After several years of experiencing with black colour in opposition to white colour in canvas, always present, she comes with its works on red colour.
Movement adds to colour. The way the artist use brushes reveals also characteristics of personal behaviour, energy and also in the case of Pati the extreme care she approaches her artistic work.
Exhibition has been a festival of material and colour, a calm reflexion on the effect of looking to the artist work on a piece of white canvas.

Coming back after Winter

Once Ca l’Antiga's Autumn activities finished, we will close for the Winter period but we don’t stop working on the preparation of the 2018 programme. We can announce that 2018 programme will be very international with artists and groups of artists from neighbouring countries. We will keep you informed.
