Fill Out the Allegheny Cleantech University Prize Statement of Intent!

Interested in winning the $50,000 grand prize! Our very simple statement of intent is open! The form is due by December 20. Please review the above requirements and deadlines for submitting information for the competition. Note that you'll need to create or login with a username and password on the competition platform, YouNoodle, upon clicking on the application form above.
RoBotany CEO Austin Webb To Speak At LaunchCMU, Oct. 10

On October 10, RoBotany CEO and Co-Founder Austin Webb (Tepper'17) will speak at LaunchCMU. The event, hosted by CMU's Swartz Center for Entrepreneurship, is a technology startup and research showcase focusing on robotics in manufacturing. The showcase will include demo and poster sessions, presentations and a networking reception. Learn more and register.

MIT Energy Hackathon
November 3-5

The MIT Energy Hackathon is an annual event run by the MIT Energy Club. The Hackathon invites companies working in the energy field to present challenges that they face in the industry. Students then tackle these problems and aim to develop solutions in 36 hours. Students have the chance to lead a team, design an innovative project, and present their ideas to these companies. Swartz Center CONNECTS Entrepreneurship Seminar Series

The Swartz Center for Entrepreneurship CONNECTS series enhances the experiential education of any individual interested in innovation and entrepreneurship. VentureWell E-Team Program

The VentureWell E-Team program provides early-stage funding of up to $25,000 and cultivates opportunities for student STEM inventors and innovators to move ideas out of the lab and into the market. Apply.  
 

Chain Reaction Innovations Second Cohort
Deadline: October 13

Building an energy or materials science technology is difficult. Chain Reaction Innovations can help you do that by providing business planning and technical mentorship, up to $200,000 in a fellowship grant, and up to $220,000 to spend on research work at Argonne National Laboratory.

ORNL Innovation Crossroads Cohort
Deadline: October 30

Oak Ridge National Laboratory’s (ORNL) prestigious Innovation Crossroads program is recruiting for its second cohort of innovators! ORNL is looking for recent PhD graduates who have started or want to start new energy or advanced manufacturing companies. Successful candidates will begin their work at ORNL in May 2018. TransTech Energy (TTE) Business Development Conference, October 24-25

The TTE Conference is being held to encourage and enable all innovators and entrepreneurs throughout the Ohio Valley and Mid-Atlantic states to pitch their great TTE ideas, products, projects, apps, and discoveries to venture and angel investors, potential strategic partners, project and economic developers, potential customers, and the general public. Exhibit your work at the Conference or present a research poster at the event's Link & Learn Reception on Tuesday, October 24 at 5:30 p.m. Register now!

Harvard Business School Energy & Environment Symposium 2017 Startup Demo Day Competition
Deadline: October 6

This annual event, hosted on the Harvard Business School campus in Boston, will include a Startup Demo Day Competition from 4pm - 5pm on Saturday, October 21. The panel will include prominent entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and executives from the energy industry (names to be announced shortly). Apply!

Cyclotron Road Cohort Application
Deadline: October 31

Cyclotron Road is recruiting its next cohort of innovators. Those who are accepted into the program receive a two-year fellowship, unencumbered access to Berkeley Lab and UC Berkeley and an intensive program of mentorship, education and networking. Visit their website.

Midwest Region Cleantech University Prize
Deadline: November 30

As one of eight regional partners for the DOE's Cleantech University Prize, Clean Energy Trust will showcase the most innovative and promising university-based cleantech companies in the Midwest. One team will receive a $50,000 grant and three will present at the DOE's National Competition for further funding. Learn more.
National Renewable Energy Laboratory Industry Growth Forum
Deadline: December 4
Early Bird Deadline: November 1


The annual Industry Growth Forum, hosted by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, will take place May 3-4, 2018 in Denver, Colorado. Convening more than 350 investment and entrepreneurial attendees, the Forum features presentations from 30 emerging clean energy companies, provocative panels led by thought leaders, one-on-one meetings between entrepreneurs and the investment community, and organized networking opportunities. Caltech's FLOW Competition
Deadline: February 1

FLOW's DOE Cleantech UP business plan competition is for university students and recent graduates focused on cleantech and sustainability. In addition to cleantech and clean energy, FLOW supports a broad spectrum of sustainability-related innovations including those related to natural resource management and agricultural technologies.
Quake Capital University Investor Series (UIS)

The Quake Capital UIS is a virtual pitchfest where student entrepreneurs from around the world present to a panel of top pre-seed and early seed stage investors. After each startup has presented, they are connected with interested investors to discuss their ventures and potential investments.
