Sydney's Beach Trip

Seven year old Sydney had beaten her cancer (Wilms Tumor) for the second time and wanted to celebrate at the beach with her family.  Kellsie’s Hope granted Sydney’s wish and sent her and her family to St. Simon Island in Georgia.  The week was filled with playing on the beach, splashing around at a water park, and spending time with family.

A few weeks after returning home, Sydney started experiencing pain so severe that she was admitted to the hospital and given morphine. Several tests concluded that the unimaginable had happened, Sydney had relapsed for a third time. Sydney has completed 3 rounds of a combination of 4 adult chemotherapy drugs which have left her sick and exhausted.  She recently had a PET scan which showed a 75% decrease in the tumor.  Sydney needs to continue chemotherapy, which means more sick days ahead.

Please keep Sydney in your prayers as she battles this monster for the third time. You can follow Sydney's Journey at #SydneysSoldiers on Facebook.

Thank You! States of Hope Needed You and You Came Through!

YOU DONATED AND CREATED AWARENESS ABOUT CHILDHOOD CANCER IN EVERY STATE!  Every September since Kellsie received her angel’s wings, we have celebrated her birthday and acknowledged Childhood Cancer Awareness Month with the States of Hope Campaign.  Kellsie’s passion was to raise awareness about childhood cancer and we honor and reflect that passion by turning the states pink as donations are received from each state in the month of September.  As you can see from the map above, every state is pink.  We couldn't have done it without your help!!  Thank you to everyone who donated and helped spread the word.

Can we go for GOLD?  The States of Hope campaign continues through  September 30. Can you help us turn at least 2 more states Gold to beat last year's record of 4?  No donation is too small!! Once a state reaches $500, it turns Gold. Please keep spreading the word.

Seventh Annual Women's Luncheon Was a Success

The 2017 Women’s Luncheon was held on Sunday, August 27, 2017 at the Regency Hotel in O’Fallon, Illinois.  Over 375 ladies enjoyed lunch, guest speakers, raffles, and bid on over 100 silent auction items. Numerous volunteers, sponsors, and donors help contribute to this major fundraising event for Kellsie’s Hope Foundation.  All proceeds benefited children with cancer and their families.

Thank you to all who helped and attended.  We look forward to seeing you next year and remember to bring a friend!!

Second Annual Chili Cook Off

Please come out and support Kellsie's Hope by attending the Second Annual Bad to the Bone Chili Cook Off in Memory Sam Merkel on October 14.  Sam lost his battle with cancer in December, 2015, and his family honors his memory by donating all proceeds from this event to Washington University for Osteocarcoma Research.  This year we have added Cookies for Collin in memory of Collin Rives who lost his battle with cancer in January, 2017.  Sam and Collin and too many other children have been taken too young by Osteocarcoma.  Last year, $26,000.00 was raised at the Chili Cook off to help find better treatments and ultimately a cure and we are hoping to increase that amount this year.  Our children deserve a chance to conquer Osteocarcoma!!
