Jumpstarting the day with God's word for the week ahead.

What God Will and Will Not Do

God can do anything! …or can He???

Matthew 17:20 says, “…if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain (code for “impossible”), ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.

Luke 1:37 says, “…For with God nothing will be impossible.”

Powerful Scriptures! No one will dispute that. The question is this:

Will God do everything?

God has set certain laws in place. If we obey those laws, we experience certain benefits. But He has also made promises that are conditional upon our free will – if we will, than He will.
But God has chosen to limit Himself based upon certain conditions in His Word. Some things God cannot and will not do. He will not change you without your cooperation. He will not answer selfish prayers. He will not stop you when you choose to do evil. And He will not do for you what you can do for yourself.

God will answer all prayers that will bring glory to Him. Love for Him activates His response. Our faith activates His response. God cannot help but respond when we love His Son - His most precious gift - and when we express faith in our lives toward Him.

Paul said. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” But keep in mind that Christ is the key - anything that exalts HIM will be the factor that decides what God CAN, CANNOT, and WILL NOT do.

 MEDITATE

Reflect on how you've been praying lately. Have you been praying selfishly? Or have you prayed for things that exalt God? Are your prayers centered on Christ and what He desires for you and for all? Do you have to change the way you pray to be more effective?

  STUDY

Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Reading Plan: Romans 16 - 1 Corinthians 6

 PRAY

Heavenly Father, I know that you can do all things that will ultimately give You the glory. Teach me to desire the things you desire. Teach me to love the way You love. Mold me to become who You want me to become. I choose to align my heart to Your will, so that my prayers are more effective.

 LIVE

If you've not been getting answers to your prayers, it's time to change the way You pray. If you're praying for something specific to happen and have not received it, try praying for God's will to be done instead. Seek what His will is! If you're praying for someone to change and the person has not, ask God to change you instead.  Yes - TO CHANGE YOU INSTEAD. #GlorytoGod #GodAnswersPrayer
