Work Inspiration for Roma Mitchell School
A team of volunteers at Kain Lawyers just wrapped up two fantastic days of hosting twenty-one Year 11 students from Roma Mitchell Secondary School for a Work Inspiration workshop. It was a wonderful experience for the students, teachers, and corporate partner volunteers who got a tour of SAMRI "the cheese grater", heard about the unconventional career journeys from three inspiring guest speakers: Durkhani Ayubi, Matt Tarrant, and Shaun Edlin (pictured), and received job search and interviewing tips from Sharon Ferrier of Persuasive Presentations.

Volunteers Judge Art and Writing Competition
On 21-Sept, we sent volunteers to work for the day at the local branch of The Smith Family to assist in judging art and writing competition submissions from young students who are part of the Learning for Life program. By all accounts, it was a fun day for volunteers Kate and Sarah (pictured with General Manager - Graham Jaeschke). We'll share highlights from the top entries once they're announced.

Home Dedication Ceremony
We're excited for the upcoming Habitat for Humanity ceremony on 5-Oct to celebrate completion and welcome partner family: Amad, Refar and their two children into their new home in Davoren Park. Some of you know this home quite well, with volunteers from Kelledy-Jones Lawyers and Fusion doing hands-on work during construction. The timing is great as Habitat is breaking ground on another new home across the street. We'll be posting pictures from the ceremony on on social media.

Northern Opportunities Scholarship Reception

We loved last year's inaugural Open State Festival. This year's festival is even bigger with over 120 free events.
Open State’s purpose is to connect global and local leaders with South Australians, to explore new opportunities and address our state’s challenges together. Open State allows us to peer into the future and tackle some of the challenges we face as a state, and as global citizens, across six themes: Future Food, Future Human, Future Enterprise, Future Planet, Future Cities and Future Democracy.
We're looking forward to the panel on Future Jobs in a World of Artificial Intelligence with Keynote Speaker Jan Owen from Foundation for Young Australians. This event is already sold out, but we'll be live tweeting if you want to follow along.
