Fordham - Marketing Area News & Information
LETTER FROM THE CHAIR

Dear FNAME,

Greetings from New York City. We had quite a busy summer here at the Gabelli School of Business.
Our marketing faculty has spent their summer working on various research projects. Under the Research section, you can read summaries of some of the selected publications of my colleagues, with topics ranging from consumer retaliatory behaviors, to health insurance premiums, to customer experience and commitment.

We hosted the Frontiers in Service conference, the world’s leading annual conference on service research, at our Lincoln Center campus, at the heart of Manhattan, from June 22 to 25, 2017. More than 400 attendees from 40 countries shared their research and insights on a wide range of services-related topics while having a real NYC experience! You can read more about this conference under the Hot Topics section.

Prior to the Frontiers Conference, the AMA SERVSIG Doctoral Consortium in 2017 also took place here at Fordham from June 21 to 22, 2017 with a record breaking-number of attendees. I had the distinct pleasure of co-hosting the Doctoral Consortium with Lisa Brüggen from Maastricht University and Yany Grégoire from HEC Montréal. You can read more about the Doctoral Consortium under the Hot Topics section.

Applied learning lies at the core of our teaching philosophy, not only in our marketing area but also at the Gabelli School of Business. You can read about the applied projects that our students in the MS in Marketing Intelligence program completed over the summer under the Teaching section.

As always, please accept this e-newsletter as an open invitation to share your ideas or suggestions for possible collaborations and joint projects with our area and/or individual faculty members. You can always contact me at
kabadayi@fordham.edu. If you happen to be in New York City, feel free to stop by our campus and say "hi."

Best Regards,
Sertan Kabadayi, PhD
