Congratulating Dr. Williams for His Inspirational Achievements!
The International Colloquium on Black Males in Education (ICBME) Planning Committee congratulates Dr. Damon A. Williams for his recent achievements. Dr. Williams has been honored as a 2017 University of Michigan (U of M) Bicentennial Award winner and a 2017 Western Reserve Academy Waring Prize winner for his expertise and dedication to diversity, leadership, and change. Dr. Williams also served as the keynote speaker at the 2017 U of M graduate school commencement ceremony.
Dr. Williams is a U of M alumnus and the former Senior Vice President of the Boys & Girls Club of America (BGCA). Prior to his position at the BGCA, Dr. Williams founded the Division of Diversity, Equity & Educational Achievement and served as inaugural Chief Diversity Officer at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Dr. Williams is also a 2017 Waring Prize recipient, which is awarded to alumnus of Western Reserve Academy who represent the civic service values that the Academy fosters. Learn more about the Waring Prize here.
His efforts to develop programs to enhance academic success and healthy lifestyles among young people in BGCA prove that Dr. Williams was a more than worthy candidate for these honors, and we wish to congratulate him once again for being such an inspiration.
