President's Note

Happy Fall! The TACL Fall Convention in Austin marked the end of summer and start of the season for apple picking, pumpkin spice lattes, and new boards! We’re excited to welcome new Presidents to the TACL family: Tom Chen (TAP-DC), Louis Lau (TAP-SD), Brian Lin (LYF), Vivian Liu (TAP-SF), and Mike Chen/Eric Tseng (TAP-LA). And we’d also like to introduce our newest provisional program: TAP-Orange County, led by Vincent Su (read more below)

Our time together in Austin was so inspiring and energizing that many of us are now experiencing withdrawal, but not to worry: TACL 2018 Winter Convention in San Diego is just around the corner. National Board will be premiering special program tracks for Camps programs and TACL Alumni, so you definitely don’t wanna miss it - see you in sunny SD soon!

If you have any comments, suggestions or shoutouts, feel free to email us at tacl@tacl.org and remember to “Like” us on Facebook.

Cheers,

Pamela Hung
TACL National President

Harvey Relief Efforts

Thanks to everyone who donated to TACL's Harvey Relief efforts!  We were in Austin for our Convention one week after Hurricane Harvey tore through Houston and left the city in need.  In order to get funds to the city quickly, TACL launched an immediate fundraiser through the TACL Boards.  Because of your generosity, we were able to donate $650 to the Rebuild Texas Fund.  Thank you!  For more information about this organization, please visit their website at rebuildtx.org.
#taclfam

#TACLfam Challenge Winner: TAP-SF

An inexplicable love for each other, a super fun community of friends from all over the U.S.: family - that's what everyone remembers when they think back on the awesome time we have at conventions.  To keep this love flowing during the year, National Board challenged Board members of all programs to travel to each other's cities and hang out with their #TACLfam during the year.  Between the Winter Convention in Seattle and Fall Convention in Austin, the program that traveled the most to hang out with their TACL Family was TAP-SF!  Thank you for visiting all of us so much!!!! <3

My TA Story

TAF: Our Taiwanese American Story

Stories from Taiwanese families have been passed down through oral tradition for centuries.  Now, we have something better to help us curate stories: the Internet.

In May, Taiwanese American Foundation (TAF) launched "Our Taiwanese American Story," which collects and archives stories of Taiwanese Americans to preserve a collective history and to foster intergenerational and intercultural communication.  Check out some stories and submit your own!
