The 2017 OutWest Film Fest is this weekend!

We are proud to present this years OutWest Film Fest taking place September 23rd and 24th at Bruka Theatre located at 99 N. Virginia Street, Reno, NV 89501, with a Short Film event kick-off in South Lake Tahoe on September 21st at the Lake Tahoe Community College's Duke Theatre. 

This year features two different themed screenings on Saturday (at 4 pm and 7 pm) along with a Best of International Short Film presentation on Sunday, the 24th accompanied by MIMOSAS!

Both days will feature some of the best of this year's LGBTQ short films (comedies, dramas, and documentaries) in a fun-filled atmosphere at Reno's Bruka Theatre.

The Talk - Tales of Coming Out To Family And Friends

This selection of short films highlight the joys and fears of coming out to family and friends. From unexpected acceptance to fear of losing family and friends including the comedy "Checkmate."

Celebrating the quest for romance, falling in love, and tying the knot, our evening block of films will have you laughing, crying, and falling in love with the wonderful storytellers in this section.

Films include the madcap and heartfelt comedy "The Marriage" and other great love stories!

To get your date night started, the Bruka Theatre will be selling cocktails and there will be appetizers. Get your tickets early as our block of love is sure to sell out before the 23rd.

We Are One - Best Films From Around The Globe

Our final day of the festival, we hilight the best of LGBTQ short films from the U.S. and across the world.  The wide variety of films includes the short film "Versatile" which features two actors from the "Open Relationship" which screened at the 2015 festival and the exquisitely filmed story of young love "Queen's Mile."

We will toast this final showing of the best of 2017 short films and with mimosas and international snacks. Following the "We Are One" screening, awards will be announced as selected by the audience and our jury and a final toast of mimosas to celebrate our LGBTQ community.
