NEW Science & Service on Saturdays and Much More...

Hello again! The students are back in school, and we're working in the background to enhance the experience of education for the Lincoln Cluster students. Below you'll read how we're creating growth and opportunity for students through the contributions we've secured, the extracurricular activities we are setting up, and the state of affairs down at the EarthLab. And you can join us in all these developments! Let's do it!
New Saturday EarthLab Club: Science & Service.
Any and all members of the community are welcome to join us every Saturday at the EarthLab from 9:30am-11:30am. Get more information on dates here. We hope to see you on Saturday.
Alex at the EarthLab:
Fauna Loves Flora, Flora Loves Fauna
Alex brings us another report back from the field. The critters are all over and the harvest is looking superb. See the photos and read the words.

$20,000 Grant from SDG&E will help Groundwork enrich Science Education in Encanto
SDG&E named Groundwork Chollas Creek "Environmental Champions", and to show how much they mean it, they brought us this huge check for $20k. Click through to read how this grant will help us increase the science education for Lincoln Cluster students.

NASSCO Work Party at the EarthLab
Thanks NASSCO for your support in prepping the EarthLab for the 3000 Lincoln Cluster students expected to use the space for outdoor science education. They shot some wonderful photos, so take a look at them here.
Elida Chavez and Patrice Baker
You might have been seeing Groundwork San Diego’s amazing climate action outreach team, Elida Chavez and Patrice Baker, meeting with residents in our Encanto neighborhoods around the EarthLab. They are sharing the benefits of low-cost home improvements that include low flush toilets, low flow faucets and showerheads, rain barrels, tree plantings, laundry-to-landscape systems, and drought tolerant landscapes. Dozens of neighbors are signing up! These improvements provide aesthetic and economic benefits to residents, and contribute significantly to a healthier environment.
If you are interested in meeting with Patrice and Elida to see how they can help, please call the Groundwork Office at 619-594-0430. Let’s all Go Green!
SDGE Conservation Tips
Did you know 40% of the electricity used to power home electronics is consumed while they are turned off? If each Californian (all 39.5 million of us!) were to do just one thing to manage our energy a little better, just think about how much energy we will save. Find out more about what you can do to be part of this energy movement at energyupgradeca.org.
Take the Pledge, Win a Home Makeover!
Chollas Eco Village is becoming a model of how energy efficiency provides you with a healthier environment  and job opportunities.
Take our pledge here, and those living in 92102 will be entered into the Eco Village raffle.
