Doctor, Doctor

Congratulations to
Rim & Nat!

We would like to extend a HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to outgoing Co-Chairs Dr. Rim and Dr. Nat! They crushed their defences in true CU-WISE style. They were inspired, they did inspire, and they definitely left a legacy during their time with CU-WISE. You both will be missed.

Dr. Nat, from the Dept of Civil and Environmental Engineering, successfully defended her thesis entitled, "Individual and combined use of ultraviolet light (UV) with hydrogen peroxide, peracetic acid, and ferrate (VI) for wastewater disinfection". Yup, that's exactly what you think she studied, she loves it and you just flush it away. She is currently loving life in Victoria, British Columbia, doing a MITACS Canadian Science Policy Fellowship with the Ministry of Agriculture for her Post-Doctarte. We wish her all the best as she makes the world a better place.
Dr. Rim, is so in love with her research, you will have to wait until next email to see where she went off to. She thinks brains are sexy, and loves her lab rats, both human and animal. You may see her pumping iron as she is a Cross-FIt extraordinaire, or mentoring future STEM girls in her spare time. We wish her all the best. We love her, and she loves life!
CU-WISE has a new team member! Noemie has been appointed as our work-study student.  She is here to help with the weekly duties and anything we can think of. She works with Dr. Ormeci, our CU-WISE faculty advisor in the Dept of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
