JOIE 2015 Plein de Vie Brut
$19.99+taxes

SOLD OUT AT WINERY~LIMITED SUPPLY
Aromas of fresh strawberries carry through the palate where a cranberry astringency cleans the vibrant fruit aromas. A sage note and biscuit give the wine a savoury, fresh dimension. Caution: goes down like juice. Blend of: 40% Pinot Meunier, 40% Chardonnay, 20% Pinot Noir.

Winemaker’s notes:
The Plein de Vie Rose was made in celebration of the opening of our tasting room and picnique area in 2015. Joie has always made bubble for family and friends, and in the pursuit of sharing the love, we made an accessible, fun, prosecco-style sparkling wine that is, of course, pink. Plein de Vie means “full of life” and indeed, you will be too when this easy yet sophisticated bubble, made from classic Champange grapes is enjoyed in good company with good food.

JOIE 2016 Unoaked Chardonnay  $23.99+taxes
PERFECT FALL WHITE

On the nose, fresh aromas of pineapple and citrus lead to flavours of juicy red apple, lemon, and mineral on the palate. Structurally the wine shows round body and mouth-filling alcohol yet still finished fresh and clean.

Un-oaked Chardonnay is a crisp, pure expression of the Chardonnay grape. We ferment in stainless steel tanks at cool temperatures to preserve the clean, fruit-forward nature of our Chardonnay and then employ lees contact to add a fresh briny character and texture. Our inspiration is derived from our love of the famous un-oaked Chardonnays of Chablis and the lesser known wines of Mâconnais.

BRONZE, Cascadia Wine Competition, OREGON, 2017

JOIE 2016 Noble Blend $24.99+taxes

NEW VINTAGE RELEASE~ BEST SELLER ~ PERFECT TURKEY WINE
This aromatic wine exhibits an intense nose of guava, nutmeg, and clove. This spiciness continues onto the palate and opens up with unctuous flavours of lychee and guava carrying through to a grapefruit-fresh finish. Overall the flavours and textures of this wine are very focused and intense. The 2016 Noble Blend is a classic blend of Gewurztraminer, Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Auxerrois, and Muscat. 38% Gew, 37% Riesling, 11% Pinot Auxerrois, 8%Pinot Blanc, 5% Muscat.

GOLD, Best in Class, Cascadia Wine Competition, OREGON, 2017
BRONZE MEDAL- 2017 Pacific Rim International Wine Competition

JOIE 2015 "En Famille" Riesling $29.99+taxes
BEST SELLER~STAFF FAVOURITE
Riesling as its best, delicately balances mouthwatering acidity, a touch of sweetness, and moderate alcohol levels in support of aromas and flavours of citrus, ginger, flowers, and spice. The greatest examples we know of originate in Germany and it was Germans who brought the first Riesling to the Okanagan Valley. Extended lees contact lends to a depth of texture, structure, and ageability to this traditional Mosel-style wine. This wine is the direct result of the special work of the Gelbert family and their crew at the St. Hubertus Vineyard in Kelowna.

This wine exhibits a delicate nose of dried mint and mineral. On the palate, the structure is medium- bodied, with moderate alcohol, and carries 20g/L of residual sugar balanced with crisp, bright acidity. The nose carries through the palate, where intense flavours of lemon, lime, and ginger explode in your mouth and follow through with a long, lingering, lip smacking finish.

DOUBLE GOLD- 2017 CASCADIA WINE COMPETITION

JOIE 2015 Pinot Noir $27.99+taxes
NEW WINE IN STORE~ PERFECT TURKEY WINE
The deep colour is suggestive of the intense core ripe, juicy raspberry fruit found in the glass. Sweet spice, violets and tar on the nose carries through to the palate and is balanced by savoury coffee and cocoa notes. This is a pretty, yet powerful Pinot Noir. An excellent pairing for charcuterie, duck, salmon and coastal mushroom dishes.

Winemaker’s Notes: We work with Pinot Noir because we feel that it naturally excels in the cool climate desert of south-central British Columbia. Our diurnal temperature swings extend our harvest and ripening period well into 60 days past veraison to create Pinot Noir with great phenolic ripeness and flavour development while maintaining bright acidity. The superiority of the Burgundian varietals to our terroir is undeniable, but of equal importance is their compatibility with the cuisine of the Pacific Northwest. This Pinot Noir is a blend of the vineyards made in a fruit forward style for early drinking. Pleasant acidity is balanced with bright cherry fruit.

Fitz Brut 2012 $43.99+taxes
STAFF FAVOURITE
Fitz Brut is our signature Cuvée, which is a French term for blend. Ours is made with a combination of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, and starting in 2015, a hint of Meunier.
We take a vintage approach to our Brut much like the Grower Champagnes of France where we adjust the blend percentages from vintage to vintage and strive to evoke a clear statement on the year, terroir and people who contributed to the wine’s development. Fitz Brut spends no less than 24 months aging on lees.

BRONZE MEDAL – Wine Align National Awards 2017

Fitzpatrick 2016 Runabout White $23.99+taxes
CLUB SPW FAVOURITE

This five grape blend has a little bit of something for everyone in it, and contains all of the white grapes grown at our estate vineyard. Technically-speaking, it’s the second press of our grapes – the first press going to the varietal wines – that we set aside specifically for a white blend. The 2016 vintage is a substantial wine owing both to the heat of the vintage as well as the 40% Chardonnay and 30% Gewurztraminer that make up the majority of the finished wine.

Ripe peach, lychee and rose petal on the nose. Slightly sweet, but not quite off dry, Runabout has excellent balance between acidity and sweetness that makes for an approachable, versatile wine. Every white grape planting and every soil type at our estate vineyard is represented in this blend – a true taste of the estate. Throw some whole rainbow trout on the BBQ. 621 cases produced. Blend: 40% Chardonnay, 30% Gewürztraminer, 11% Ehrenfelser, 11% Riesling, 8% Pinot Blanc.

Fitzpatrick 2016 Pink Mile Rose $25.99+taxes
NEW VINTAGE RELEASE~BEST SELLER~ SOLD OUT AT WINERY~ ONLY 2 CASES AVAILABLE!

2016 was recorded as the hottest year on the planet earth, and our little corner of it was no exception. We harvested these grapes from Blocks 2 & 3 of our estate vineyard, and picked and pressed them separately for our Rosé. We were extra gentle with these grapes on account of Pinot Noir being a bit delicate. We pressed with minimal skin contact to produce a wine of a delicate pale pink colour.

The ripeness of the hot vintage is present in this wine. On the nose you’ll find fresh strawberries and cream with a little ripe melon. It presents as an off-dry wine. But on the palate, the wine is nicely tart with a little lemon-y citrus and rhubarb. You get the best of both worlds, like a nice hot day with a cool breeze. 100% Pinot Noir from Block 2 & 3. Soil type is Ratnip. A Salade Nicoise would be nice with this rose. You want it cold. Cooler cold. Only 276 cases produced.

Fitzpatrick 2014 Big Leap Chardonnay $33.99+taxes
BEST SELLER ~STAFF FAVOURITE

The first dream we had as winegrowers was to produce great Chardonnay. It was 1987. To do that, we had to pull up every last vine we had, and replant new French ones. At the time, no one really knew for sure that great Okanagan wine was even possible. It was a big leap. But we took it. We’ve always had a soft spot in our hearts for a great Chardonnay. This crisp, citrus-forward edition won our in-house, blind tasting. Safe to say it’s a favourite around here.

Fitzpatrick 2016 The Lookout Riesling $25.99+taxes
BEST SELLER ~STAFF FAVOURITE

We picked our Block 8 Riesling early to keep the alcohol level a little lower than the vintage may otherwise have produced, and also to retain its great natural acidity. A long, slow, cool ferment was done to enhance its fruitiness and delicate aromatics. We stopped the ferment early, prior to dryness, to allow the residual sugar to complement the acidity – a little sweet to pair with the sour.

Brilliant aromatics of lime, apricot & honeycomb with the slightest hint of beeswax. The palate has some substantial weight to it offering lime, citrus and minerality. A focused line of acidity balances the residual sweetness. 100% of our Riesling comes from Block 8 of our estate vineyard. The soil type in Block 8 is Ratnip. Almost anything salty and savoury. A simple BLT would be perfection. Only 444 cases produced.

It’s interesting to deeply chill this wine, and watch how the interplay between the sweetness and sourness evolves as it warms.

Fitzpatrick 2015 Interloper  Gewurztraminer $25.99+taxes
PERFECT TURKEY WINE

Our discerning, resident bear loves Gewϋrztraminer. She picks perfectly ripe clusters from the vine with the same care we do, and then makes short work of them. We, on the other hand, gently press ours, and then use a long, cool ferment to preserve all their beautiful flavour. To each their own. There’s a tree just below our crush deck where a black bear liked to sit and sleep off the effects of a Gewürztraminer grape feast. Wine and a nap sounds about right.
