Candidate Forums for Upcoming Election

Edmonton Elections will be hosting a series of candidate forums for municipal candidates in September and October 2017. Candidate forums provide an opportunity to hear from each of the candidates in order to make an informed decision on Election Day (October 16, 2017).

American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation and closed captioning services for persons who are deaf or hard of hearing will be provided at all candidate forums hosted by the City of Edmonton.

Not able to attend? Watch the forums on a live webcast and submit your questions through Twitter using the event hashtag, or watch a recording of the forum on this website at a later date.

The forum for our area, Ward 7, will take place on Monday October 2nd from 7-9pm at St. Bernadette Elementary School, 11917-40 Street NW.

The Civic Leadership Project is designed to support women 18+ who seek to contribute and be involved in their neighbourhood community leagues.
The 2-day training sessions will focus on leadership development and board awareness training that will increase capacity to access volunteer opportunities in community leagues and in the greater Edmonton volunteer sector.
This free* workshop prioritizes women of diverse backgrounds who want to understand community league board roles and responsibilities while embracing the fundamental leadership qualities they already have. Participants will be supported in both successes and challenges as they figure out how they can best build their strengths through volunteerism while building communities they feel safe and included in.

*Community league membership is required.

Please see the EFCL Website for more info and to register

Call for Board Members

Our annual general meeting will be taking place in September and we are looking to add a few new board members!

We are specifically trying to recruit:

Volunteers with general interest in joining the board are always welcome.

Volunteer commitment is approximately one board meeting per month (about 1.5 hours), plus meetings at appropriate outside organization meetings a few times a year. Time commitment at events is about 4 hours per month.
