Greetings and I hope you are enjoying these first few days of fall!

First things first. I love massage. I am remembering my journey getting here, appreciating my education, and feeling so much love for the recent Healing Spirits graduates I had the honor of supporting in 2017!

The first time I received a massage from a truly gifted therapist was unforgettable ... it altered my perception of myself, and the profession. I sincerely hope that when you are on my table you enjoy similarly wonderful experiences. If there is anything I can do to make your massage that much better please let me know.

From happy clients:

My experience with Mary was amazing, she has a very calm and nurturing energy. She took the time to understand what I wanted from my visit, and she put all of herself into the massage. I felt sacred and re-energized. This woman has healing hands!

---

Mary is a complete LMT. She is concerned about your well being from the start. I have had a plethora of therapists work on my body, and none has helped me as Mary has. I am living a relatively pain-free life playing hockey and running half marathons. Thank you Mary, you deserve many accolades!

---

Most massage therapists are hammers looking for nails when there are needy nails aplenty. Her job is to heal you, not scratch wear you itch. Get your mind right, get on her table, and let yourself receive.

From children I have the pleasure of caring for:

Most massages are good but bland and just the basics. Mary has the talent of making them extraordinary and everything you could ask for in a massage. Her technique is excellent, she listens to everything, and she's very talented with her technique. – Age 12

---

I find Mary's work very relaxing and beautiful. I think she is a beautiful and talented massage therapist! – Age 10

Ahhhhhh I want to be on that warm massage table right now!!! – Age 7

Autumn. No, Fall(out)

So much about letting go, going inside, slowing down. What metaphor has not been already used?!

Well. None of that here, this time. I'm finding Fall to be a bit overshadowed by "summer fallout" to be honest. My summer has been nuts. My choices weak. My self care puny. Summer is not floating off with those gorgeous hot air balloons in a quiet, smiling yay; it's floating around like a bad smell waiting for pay back.

I'll blame weird summer on the MASSIVE renovation we are undergoing. (It's coming along, though, and parts of it have been very fun and hilarious.) But. I'm paying the price for abandoning almost healthy habit I've worked so hard to establish in my life. In other words: we reap what the sow. And the crop ain't pretty this year.

Most importantly, though, I'm committed to nurturing myself once again.

I wonder how many of you also experienced summers that worked you more than soothed you? Maybe there was too little "you" time. Too much output and not enough rest?

If you are feeling chaotic mental energy, pain or stiffness in hips and shoulders, a nagging urge to purge craft beer and summer BBQ fare from your diet, trust me: you are not alone. That not-so-quiet voice of "...bleh..." is simply your body calling you home ... inviting you back to balance, health, calm, happy. Oh, comrades, won't you join me?

This fall I challenge you to take baby steps towards whatever it is you want more of in your life. What it that for you? Cooking more meals at home? Regularly scheduled one-on-one with your youngest child? Maybe you think about walking to work. Dusting off hobbies. The bike you meant to repair. Maybe you just want, finally, to allow the goodness of a deep, nurturing massage to be a bigger part of your good life plan! Whatever it is: give in. Life is short. Make it happen. You are closer than you think to feeling wonderful. And, you totally deserve it!

This fall, I'll be walking this path of wellness with you.

Warm wishes and much peace,

Mary
WE ARE ENTRING COLD SEASON

Massage Boosts Your Immunity

Aside from the myriad health benefits of regular massage, it's great to see science supporting our age old wisdom.

Clinical studies have indicated that regular massage can naturally increase the immune system's cytotoxic capacity (the activity level of the body's natural "killer cells") and decrease the number of T-cells, which improves the body's immune functioning overall.

What is Manual Lymphatic Drainage, and the Lymph System?

One of the modalities I offer clients is manual lymphatic drainage.

The lymphatic system is the secondary system of circulation in the body with a very complex set of tasks. The major tasks are cleaning and nourishing the cells. Sounds simple enough, but without it, we wouldn’t survive long...link to full article from Natural Therapy Pages is on my Facebook Page.
