There is a lot of information in this issue, some is repeated, some is new, but all is important.  If this message is truncated you can see it online or hit the expand button at the end.

ALERT:

1) Centene Recertification is ready.
2) Humana will not work in Chrome.
3) SilverScript 2018 Certifications are up and running.

AHIP is OPEN!  If you fail the first AHIP test, please call Alison to ask questions before attempting it again.  You only get 3 chances to pass it.

Most recertifications are ready to go.  If you have any question contact Alison at  alison@tomtaylorinsurancegroup.com or the carrier tech support if it is sign in problems.
Remember that some carrier sites are still not Chrome or Foxfire friendly and you may have to use another browser such as Internet Explorer to do the recertifications.  If you are using Microsoft Edge, you should revert it to IE to do your certifications so that you do not get to the testing and not be able to complete it,

Here is this week news from Tom.

Pre-AEP Solicitation Rules of the Road for Oct 1 – Oct 14

Pre-AEP Solicitation - October 1st – 14th

During Pre-AEP (October 1 – October 14), agents are allowed to meet with beneficiaries, assess their needs, review plan changes and options, give a full presentation, and recommend coverage that will best meet the beneficiaries’ needs for the next plan year.

One of the most important things to remember during Pre-AEP is that while agents can assist a beneficiary in completing a paper application they cannot encourage completion, solicit, accept, take possession of, or “just hold on to” any applications for the 2018 plan year prior to the start of AEP on October 15, 2017.

During the Pre-AEP timeframe agents should place their name and SAN on applications, however, should not put a date next to agent name as this date indicates when the Plan Sponsor (in this case the agent) took possession of the application even if they didn’t

Per CMS guidelines, Humana must investigate any applications that come in with an agent name or SAN prior to the start of AEP for potential solicitation.  In addition Humana must investigate any applications that come in on or after 10/15 but have a Pre-AEP agent date on the application.

Humana will REJECT any application that comes in with an agent name or SAN prior to the start of AEP and will reject any applications that come in on, or after 10/15, but have a Pre-AEP Agent date on the application.

What Does This Mean to Agents

·         Do not place a date in the Agent Only section of the application during the Pre-AEP period.
·         Be thorough and comprehensive in reminding clients NOT to mail the application until AEP begins (10/15 or after).
·         Investigations will occur and depending on the outcome could result in corrective action up to and including termination of contract or employment.

2018 Humana Medicare Sales Video Presentations
We’ve heard from agents that using the video enhances their sales presentation and helps them in their sales process. It allows the agent, by watching their clients and identifying visual clues as they viewed the video, to identify what areas were the ones that seem to be the ones they understand and which ones might need more attention.

We encourage you to use these videos when presenting Humana plans to your clients as a way to communicate some of the critical compliance messages that CMS wants beneficiaries to hear and is presented in a professional format that will help you educate your clients. While the videos do not cover all the aspects of the sales presentation, it does cover the important information that satisfies CMS requirements of full disclosure.

Select the link below to access the 2018 Sales Presentation Videos (available after October 1st)  on your Humana Vantage Portal!

Please Note: The 2018 sales video presentations cannot be used in client appointments until October 1st

Sales Presentation videos will all be loaded to the link provided before October 1 - Click Here

Here's a quick look at what’s available today: LIS Grid (attached)

How do various levels of LIS affect Humana’s 2018 MA, MAPD and PDP premiums?  Please see the attached grid showing the impact to the premiums of our 2018 MA, MAPD and PDP premiums depending on the level of “Extra Help” your members or prospects receive under LIS.  Please note, the HMO DE-SNP plans show a premium, although the actual premium to the members is $0, if they qualify for one of our DE-SNP plans.  Please confirm a Member’s or Prospects’ level of LIS before sharing this information with your Member or Prospect.

Weird Taste in Your Mouth? These Drugs Could Be the Cause

Our sensory system for taste is remarkably sensitive, thanks to our taste buds. An unpleasant taste or lack of taste can affect appetite, and even lead to depression.

If your taste buds don't seem right, and you've ruled out other causes, then take a look at your medications. With certain meds, changes in your sense of taste can occur.
