Abukloi has completed another successful year of classes and exams.
Yet, as hard as the students work in the classroom, learning does not end when they leave the building.
Our extra-curricular programs help students learn in different ways, apply their knowledge to practical situations, and live out the Abukloi School Mission.

PEACE & HUMAN RIGHTS CLUB
"Fostering teamwork, collaboration, creativity, effective communication, tolerance, and culture of Peace"
The peace club focuses on human and gender rights awareness. Students participate in classroom and inter-school debates and engage with the community in conflict analysis and resolution.
Male and Female students also participate in community-wide sporting events and poetry contest.

RED CROSS CLUB
"To [develop students to be] responsible, compassionate, free and concerned about the welfare of others."
The new Red Cross Club trains students in basic first aid and environmental safety management, including how to keep the school grounds clean and safe.
The club also supports the psychological rehabilitation of disabled students.

DEBATING CLUB
"Preserve, create, and disseminate knowledge and dignity of individuals through quality and relevant teaching."
In addition to debates in the Peace Club, student can participate in inter-class debate team. Debating hones skills in English, critical thinking, analysis, and communication.

SCRIPTURE UNION
"Abukloi Secondary School is a Christian School that upholds Christian Values, such as honesty, love, trust, respect, integrity, and transparency."
The Christian Church is a very important part of the Rumbek community. In fact, some of our students left military service to become pastors. The Scripture Union Club provides an opportunity for students to learn The Word and provide Christ-centered counseling to other students.

These clubs and other activities provide opportunities for Abukloi students to grow and mature as peaceful and responsible members of their community. These students will be the next generation of leaders in South Sudan. By investing in their future we are investing in a future of peace and progress.
