Sue's News

The latest from Sue Chastain

On October 1 I had no idea what I was going to share with you for a free coloring page this month. But on Monday as I woke to the news of the events in Las Vegas, I knew I wanted to create a page that was centered on prayer. With fires, hurricanes, shootings, hate crimes, and national threats going on all around us it is easy to fall into a spirit of fear, but the Bible teaches how we are meant to respond in these times:

The end of all things is at hand; therefore be self-controlled and sober-minded for the sake of your prayers.  Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins.  Show hospitality to one another without grumbling.  As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace:  whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. (ESV)
1 Peter 4:7-11

May we all learn to live our lives with this attitude. "...for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control." (2 Timothy 1:7, ESV)

So fear not, trust Him, be a light in a dark world... and color on!

New Scripture Swatches!

We were blessed to come through Hurricane Irma with no damage and the beach vacation rental we had already booked was also spared from harm and waiting for us on the other side. After those four days without power, I had a wonderful 4-day vacation with my toes in the sand at Amelia Island. Here are some new scripture swatches from my own photos during the trip and at home this month. I'll have these up on the website soon so you can save and share.
And God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear.” And it was so.  God called the dry land Earth, and the waters that were gathered together he called Seas. And God saw that it was good. (ESV)
Genesis 1:9-10

And Sue agreed--it was (and is) good! Is there anything more soothing than the colors of the ocean?
Bless the Lord, O my soul!
O Lord my God, you are very great!
You are clothed with splendor and majesty,
covering yourself with light as with a garment,
stretching out the heavens like a tent. (ESV)

Psalms 104:1-2
How many are your works, O Lord!
In wisdom you made them all;
the earth is full of your creatures. (NIV)

Psalms 104:24

I found this cute little gecko stranded on my pool cover, and snapped a quick picture before moving him to a safer place. Isn't he adorable?

Give - Hope - Persevere

For breast cancer awareness month, I created a bundle of coloring pages dedicated to all those fighting cancer.

My father-in-law lost the battle with pancreatic cancer several years ago, and my own father lost his battle with cancer November 16, 2016. I realize coloring pages can't make a significant impact against cancer, but if they help just one person deal with the pain, grief, anger, or other emotions surrounding this horrible disease, then it's worth doing.

October Freebie: Pray
But that's not all... Enjoy coloring this free page in an attitude of prayer.

Until Next Time...

Do me a favor... if you enjoy all the goodies I share with you, it would help me out so much if you would share about my books and website with someone who might not know about them. And remember to visit Color, Create, Inspire to show us what you've been working on in your creative endeavors. Have a great October!

Blessings,

  -Sue
