Fall Tree Care - Mulching
Replenish nutrients and provide some insulation for your tree with a layer of organic composted mulch around the roots. Remember to follow the 3-3-3 rule: make a three-foot ring of mulch three inches deep around your tree, leaving a three-inch gap between the mulch and the trunk of your tree. Head over to the Fairmount Park Organic Recycling Center to pick up your free mulch, and then check out this video from the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society on proper mulching technique.
