Fully Walk with God

Zephaniah is a short little Old Testament book that has a lot of warnings in it. We don’t always like reading that type of scripture.
However in chapter 1 verse 12 is a verse that I came across recently: “And it will come to pass at that time that I will search Jerusalem with lamps, and punish the men who are settled in complacency. Who say in their heart the Lord will not do good or will he do evil.”
As I read this it reminded me of Revelation 3:15 where God asks us to chose to be either hot or cold but not lukewarm. Both in the Old Testament and the New Testament, God is simply asking us to be all in for Him. To fully walk with him in all parts of our life.
Think of the impact the 23,000 plus members of our conference could make if each one of us was all in for Jesus. Not just coasting in our walk with Jesus. But to always be looking for what God is asking us to do each and every day. Asking to be led by the Holy Spirit to the right places at the right times to be able to share just the right thing as we represent Jesus who is our hope and our salvation. This is the way we can truly bring wholeness to our conference and to our world.

Stories From the Road
This is field trip week! Washington Conference administrators are visiting with pastor district groups around the conference. This is a time of prayer, encouragement, and sharing ministry plans. The best part: hearing stories about how God is providing.
Pastor Ira Bartolome, for example, and his Centralia church family operate a 7,000 square foot thrift store. They regularly have positive interactions with the community and see how God is working in the lives of clients.
Carolyn, manager of Relive Thrift Store, is a walking story herself. She has stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Someone who found out that Carolyn has cancer asked her why she wasn't working on her bucket list. Her response: "This store is my bucket list!"
Administrators also visited Lewis County Adventist School in Chehalis. Principal Karen Carlton shared the miracle of how God provided a long-term substitute teacher at just the right time. With just a few days notice, the school found a quality Christian teacher who was looking for just such a position.

Hackathon In Progress
Seattle-area Adventist developers and non-developers met in Kirkland last Sunday to brainstorm ways for technology to accelerate ministry. It was a productive 2.5 hour meeting with 20 participants!
"I feel we accomplished two of our primary objectives: bringing this group of talented and innovative individuals together, and starting what I hope becomes a valuable, constructive conversation," says Linden Goffar, Hackathon coordinator and Kirkland member.

ARME Bible Camp
This is a big weekend of Biblical revival! ARME Ministries is at Sunset Lake Camp now through October 1. A variety of programs are available for adults and children.
So what is ARME Bible Camp all about? ARME Bible Camp is a ministry dedicated to arming people with tools for Biblical revival. The key focus is training people how to get into the Bible for themselves and then teaching them how to share what they are learning with others, practically and effectively.
Another key focus of our camp is prayer, especially united prayer. When God’s people come together in Bible study and united prayer, seeking for a deeper walk with Christ, it’s amazing how the Holy Spirit comes down to unlock the deep truths of Scripture.
Sabbath programming is free and open to all.

October 7: NPUC Day of Prayer
Washington Conference leaders highly encourage you to join the NPUC Day of Prayer on October 7.
The Seventh-day Adventist Church Annual Council will be held Oct. 8–11 in Silver Spring, Md. Important discussions will be held and critical decisions may be made that will impact the governance and unity of our church.
With this important gathering in mind, North Pacific Union Conference (NPUC) leaders are calling all Northwest members to join in a Day of Prayer, Sabbath, Oct. 7. There is no formal schedule for this, no specific format that must be followed. We encourage each member, in his or her own way, wherever and whenever possible, to lift up the mission of our church, and the hearts and minds of our world church leaders in prayer. We desire God's Spirit to be the unifying presence throughout these meetings, and that our divinely-inspired mission will be enhanced, not hindered, by decisions made.

New AMEN Tacoma Location Secured!
AMEN Clinic has a new location secured for November 10 and 12! AMEN Tacoma will be held at the Boys and Girls Club, 3875 S. 66th St., Tacoma, WA 98402.
Volunteers are still needed to help provide health, medical and spiritual care to Tacoma residents who are underinsured, uninsured, or low-income. Medical, dental, vision, and non-medical support volunteers are needed. Thanks for signing up at amentacoma.com!

Familiar Names, New Roles
Gayle Lasher chose to add a new ministry hat recently. Gayle is the new RenWeb specialist / administrative assistant for Washington Conference Office of Education. Her church, New Life Adventist Ministry, is transitioning to a new lay-led model of church growth, and Gayle is still involved in this ministry.
"I’ve worn many hats in my 12 years in Washington Conference," Lasher says. "It’s great to know our God knows us so well, He knows just where to put us, when to put us there and why it’s important."
We have a new receptionist team, too. Angela Pierce is returning to the conference office team to serve as a morning receptionist. She joins Lila Lindsay who is our afternoon receptionist.
Just a reminder on three additional updates: Elida Jerez is the new ministerial administrative assistant, Kaitlyn Herman is the new conference clerk and executive assistant for the vice president for administration, and Carol Craig is adding SAGE responsibilities to her Trust Services & Planned Giving administrative assistant role.
