Integrity Commissioner Update
The City's Integrity Commissioner, Brian Duxbury, provided Council with on update on the on-going investigation regarding a breach of confidentiality of Council members. Mr. Duxbury reaffirmed the original findings on this matter and stated that no evidence has been found suggesting that Councillor Wayne Thomson shared confidential information from an in-camera meeting earlier this year.

2017 Sports Wall of Fame Inductees
Induction into the Sports Wall of Fame is a special honour that recognizes the significant athletic achievements and contributions of those in our community who has brought fame to our City. The 2017 Sports Wall of Fame Induction Ceremony is scheduled for Sunday, January 28, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the Gale Centre.
On Tuesday, Council approved the following residents for the 2017 Sports Wall of Fame Inductees:
Pre 1990 Era:
- John Arbour, Athlete, Hockey
- Phil Mazzone, Builder, Basketball
- Jack (John) Hall, Athlete, Basketball & Soccer
- Grace Sunstrum, Builder, Baseball
- Charlie Wray, Athlete/Builder, Sports Fishing
1991 – Present Era:
- Michelle Edgar, Athlete, Ball Hockey
- Julianne Miszk Athlete Track & Field

GO Hub Transit Stations Study: Update
Niagara Region staff presented Council with an update on the draft land use concepts for the GO Hub Transit Stations Study at Tuesday's meeting.

Niagara Falls Public Library: Board Vacancy
City Council approved the appointment of Karl Dockstader to the Niagara Falls Library Board as a Community Representative. Mr. Dockstader is a resident and an avid user of the Library; additionally, he is an advocate for literacy and a champion for Library Services.

Citizen Recognition: Mackenzie Leigh
Local resident Mackenzie Leigh was recognized by Council for her heroic actions in providing medical assistance to an elderly man in distress. Mackenzie's quick and steadfast actions were vital in helping to save this gentleman's life. Thank you Mackenzie, we are proud you!

Winter Festival of Lights
Tina Myers, Executive Director for the Winter Festival of Lights, addressed Council on the upcoming events for the 2017-18 season, and informed Council of the Festival's recent award at the International Festivals and Events Association. This year's Festival will kick off on November 18, 2017. View more information.

Ovarian Cancer Canada
Sherri Lynch from Ovarian Cancer Canada addressed Council to bring awareness to Ovarian Cancer disease. Ovarian Cancer Canada is the only registered Canadian charity solely dedicated to overcoming ovarian cancer and provides support for women living with the disease and their families. Alzheimer Society of Niagara Region
On behalf of the Alzheimer Society, Peter Nicholson informed Council of the Coffee Break Campaign - a nationwide annual fundraiser where friends, co-workers and customers gather in communities across Canada to raise funds for their local Alzheimer Society.

10 Men in a Tent - A Movie
In 2009, ten community leaders got together to create the 10 Men in a Tent event, in support of Project SHARE and the Food Bank. It was a huge success that is now being made into a movie. United Way - Supporting Mental Health
Lucy Ciampa presented Council with details on an upcoming Fundraising event entitled “Unveiling the Mask of Mental Health” taking place on October 27, 2017. The Masquerade Ball will be supporting mental health through United Way. View more information.
