Dear Friends and Fans,
It’s that time of year again! After a rejuvenating and artistically enriching summer, we are now eager to embark on another season of great music-making and triumphant performances.
Yannick Nézet-Séguin is now officially Music Director Designate, and he will lead what are sure to be unmissable performances of Parsifal and Elektra. Meanwhile, beloved Music Director Emeritus James Levine will be in the pit for performances of Die Zauberflöte, Il Trovatore, Luisa Miller, and Verdi’s Requiem, as well as a highly-anticipated new production of Tosca, with which Maestro Levine made his legendary Met debut in 1971. In addition, we very much look forward to our annual series at Carnegie Hall, which will see the return of the great Gianandrea Noseda and the MET Orchestra debut of the highly-acclaimed Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla. These, together with additional performances that run the gamut from Adès to Offenbach, from Bellini to Humperdinck, make for what promises to be a season full of musical highlights.
Of course, all of this would be for naught without you, our dedicated fans and patrons from all over the world. We remain eternally grateful for your support, for your enthusiasm, and for your engagement, and wish you all the best for an inspiring season!
Gratefully yours,
The MET Orchestra Musicians
