The community is invited to join us as we celebrate the opening of our new EMS facility with a special ribbon cutting and open house! The event will be held on Monday, October 2 at 3:30 p.m. At this time, tours of the facility will be offered to guests.

The EMS - 2 facility is located in northern Davie County to provide support services for the growing population. This facility includes a three drive-thru truck bay, offices and living quarters. It was designed to purposefully blend in with the historic Farmington area.

Do you have outdated electronics around the home or office that are collecting dust?  Clear some space and do the environment good by bringing your unused or no longed needed electronics to our Electronic Recycling Event on October 28 from 8 am to Noon at the Solid Waste Transfer Station on Dalton Road in Mocksville.  Some examples of accepted items include:

• Computers 
• Televisions
• Flat panel televisions
• Stereo/Audio equipment
• Desktop copiers/faxes
• Cell Phones
• VCRs/DVD players

In an effort to meet the needs of families in our community, The Nest Family Counseling Center has been established.  The center is a division of Davie County Public Health and serves children ages 3-18 years, along with their families.  Therapists are available to counsel families who are dealing with difficult situations and work with the family as a whole to reach positive outcomes.  Some examples of trauma where The Nest staff will focus their counseling efforts include exposure to violence, loss of a loved one, physical abuse, sexual abuse and family issues such as divorce.  We are excited about this new agency that will provide professional mental health care to families so that they can heal effectively.
