SEPTEMBER 2017 PLANTING BULLETIN!

The forecast is perfect for tomorrow's National Public Lands Day, and the Friends of Glen Providence Park will again plant native trees and shrubs in the glen. This is our 6th annual planting project, working to improve wildlife habitat, reduce erosion, and beautify the park - it's one of our most popular and fun events!

It's not too late to register to join us - we'll have snacks, coffee from Seven Stones Cafe, and pizza donated from Pit Stop Pizza & Steaks! To register, just reply to this email – please let us know the number of volunteers in your party.

If you're in the mood for a hike, you could also opt to do park cleanup along the trails. Details & logistics here

Kiosks are coming!

If you're on Facebook or you've been in the park since yesterday morning, you already know there's something new - installation is underway on kiosks for all three entrances to Glen Providence Park! The all-volunteer Media Presbyterian Church Senior Craftsmen have been constructing the kiosks off-site, and are now installing the frames. The kiosks will be completed on site over the next few weeks, providing a place to post trail maps, park events, and of course park rules.

The kiosks are funded by Friends of Glen Providence Park, and the posts were installed by Delaware County Parks & Recreation.

A tremendous thank you to our donors, to County Parks, and to the wonderful Media Presbyterian Senior Craftsmen! Did we mention they're all-volunteer? More on the kiosks soon...

We'll be back next week with details on next weekend's Kids Nature Walk, and other fall news!
