First Sunday of the Month 1st October

Second Sunday of the Month 8th October
Smoky Monkeys - 7.30pm
After their 22 night Fringe run: An Imp-revised History of the World, The Smoky Monkeys are back, with some new exciting formats, long-form adventures and hilarious characters. So join them for guaranteed silliness, mad-cap fun, occasional intellectualism and made up musical madness.

Me Plus One - 8.45pm
Mark Craig (TBC Improv) and a different special guest improviser each day create an entirely new and unique two-person comedy show based off one word from you – our wonderful audience!
So what do you do when you find a space in your schedule - oh, say in the middle - and your looking for a nutritious improv filling? Why, the same thing you use when making a cake: jam! Jam in the Middle is an improvised comedy free-for-all show where anyone and everyone who comes can take part. Featuring a mix of short improvised games along with longer improv scenes/stories, whatever performance you fancy you can perform and/or watch. So, if you enjoy jam in the middle of your cake - or doughnut, no judgement - come along for some improv comedy fun.
Second-Last Sunday of the Month 22nd October
Open Improv Night - 7.30pm
Open Improv Night is an informal, fun, safe, open night of improv. Anyone can sign up for a slot to perform anything with anyone! The only criteria is it must be completely (or mostly) improvised.
Open Improv JAM - 8.45pm
Seen improv comedy and want to give it a shot? Pop your name inside of Box - BOX! - and, when it gets called, come on up to the stage for improv fun. Open to everyone and all welcomed, from veterans to novices alike!
Last Sunday of the Month 29th October
The Cutting Room - 7.30pm
Improv Comedy where audience suggestions inspire rapidly unfolding scenes. As if by magic players draw a story out of the chaos. Captivating side-scene or part of the main plot? Like comedy origami, the right cuts and folds make the play take shape. With time and place no obstacle, this improvised comedy is guaranteed to go where it has never gone before.

Interested in trying out improv but don't want to commit to a full course? The drop-in workshops could be for you. No prior experience of improv or performance is required.
This one is for everyone who ever watched improv comedy and thought "I'd like to give that a try". For for the actors looking to add improv skills to their repertoire, for the people wanting to develop their public speaking skills and for the people just wanting to be comfortable not knowing what'll happen next! Whoever you are, whatever your background, if you're wanting to learn the skills of improv from the start and to be left with a solid grounding in improv, then this is the course for you. Over 8-weeks, discover - through the supportive, collaborative process we call improv performance - how to create stories, characters and ideas to captivate an audience right before their eyes. Develop those public speaking skills to allow easier and more natural dialogues with your audience. Learn how to relish the opportunity to embrace the unexpected! (No prior experience of improv or performance required).

We're located downstairs at Monkey Barrel Comedy in The Original Room (look for the big fluorescent yellow arrow to find us!). Doors open at 7pm and we're there with a different show every Sunday night - plus there's a well priced bar and retro computer games, so bring some friends and join us for a great value, great fun evening out.
