We barely recognize them - Garden Apartment luxury upgrade
The Atmosphere Project Team have been busy this summer renovating and improving the Garden Apartments under the guidance of Resort Manager Adam. We have replaced the shower room with a large, luxurious semi-outdoor bathroom with a solid mahgany vanity cunter with his and hers sinks. To add to the luxury, we have also added a spacious walk-in closet and an additional day bed/sofa in the bedrooms. We couldn't be happier with them.

We have reached 100,000!
We love Facebook at Atmosphere and over the years we have collected quite a few fans and followers (thanks to all!). In July we noticed that we were getting very close to the magic 100,000 and launched a competition to crown our 100,000th fan. The lucky winner of a night at Atmosphere was Jay-r Abella Nojara from Cebu, who liked Atmosphere Resort’s page at just the right moment. We will welcome Jay-r with his fiance in November. Congratulations!

Octopus October begins with a bang
Few things make us as happy as when all species of Octopus come out to play in October each year – although we have to admit that Frogfish baby season is quite the contender. As we are almost on the brink of October, it came as no surprise when Atmosphere’s Marine Biologist Daniel found his first Wonderpus of the season on September 20. We can’t wait for the Mimics, Mototis and Bluerings to show off their colors and the Coconut Octopus to find inventive hiding places again.

Oli takes the helm in the Dive Centre
The newest addition to the Atmosphere Team is Oliver “Oli” Watkins, who took the helm as Dive Centre Manager in August.
Oli is used to working with a big team, after many years of teaching diving, captaining boats, running dive centers and guiding all over the world, most recently in the Cayman Islands.
Originally British but with fluent German and conversational French, he fits Atmosphere like a glove! Hoping to run the dive centre like a well-oiled machine, Oli occasionally has time to go diving though and loves seeing things he hasn’t see before – which shouldn’t be too difficult here in Dauin – but a constant favourite is the juvenile emperor fish. Welcome to the team!

Daniel speaks about Frogfish at DRT Philippines
The yearly Manila-based DRT-show took place in September this year and Atmosphere was represented with a grand stand – and a speaker! After his initial success speaking about Frogfish at DRT Singapore early this year, Daniel was asked to speak in Manila and did so in front of a packed audience. Ulrika, Saila and Aiko were also at the DRT show, manning the booth. We look forward to seeing Daniel speak at DEMA in Orlando about Frogfish in November!

Gives Forward
Beach clean-up day at Atmosphere Resorts
In mid-September Atmosphere joined the world beach clean-up efforts by organizing our own clean-up in addition to the Dive Team's regular efforts, joined by staff and guests. As you can see from these pictures, the tides bring in trash and we work hard daily to remove it from the coastline. It was great to see both guests and kids help out and have fun. Good job everyone!

One more in-house Divemaster
Albert “Bebet” Tucaling has worked as part of Atmosphere’s dive team and boat crew for 8 years now and he has always been a strong swimmer, comfortable in-water and shown a keen interest in scuba diving and marine life.
After getting through his PADI Open Water Course with ease, he has continued his scuba education and after a lot of hard work graduated as a fully-fledged PADI Divemaster in August this year. Bebet’s favorite critter is the Harlequin Shrimp and we look forward to him finding lots of them for our guests!

Scott captures our stunning summer underwater world
In August, Atmosphere welcomed a dive group from Bluewater Dive Travel in California, led by Scott Gietler who is a keen and award-winning underwater photographer. Despite traveling with his family on this trip, Scott managed to get quite a few dives in and captured some stunning moments. PADI Courses
Another PADI CD in the house!
We are delighted to congratulate Tracy Chan who passed her CDTC examination in Malaysia last week. Tracy has been with Atmosphere for two years as the Regional Sales Manager for China and Hong Kong, as well as our Chinese-speaking Dive Instructor.
Over the past year, Tracy has worked very hard towards reaching the prestigious rating of Course Director and we are very excited that Instructor Development Philippines now has 4 Course Directors in-house. We have two big IDC's ahead of us this fall, so we'll keep Tracy busy!
