WALKING FOR JUSTICE

We did it! Cardiff & District Law Society council members walked the 10k Legal Walk / Three Courts Walk for Reaching Justice Wales on the 28 September - all in our 'Walking for Justice' t-shirts!

Clive Thomas, Junior Vice President of CDLS was invited by the RJWCC Chair Anthony Seys Llewellyn to give a speech at the reception afterwards in Cardiff Crown Court. A real honour!

CDLS is delighted to support the walk for the second consecutive year and aims to continue this sponsorship for many years to come!

General Data Protection Regulations:
What does this mean for law firms?

The General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) will apply in the UK from 25th May 2018. The Government has confirmed that the UK’s decision to leave the EU will not affect the commencement of the GDPR. In any event even though the UK has already voted to leave the EU we still remain a full member until exit negotiations are concluded and all of the rights and obligations of EU membership remain the same.

What does this mean for law firms? Legalinx-7Side reports.

CLOSER TOGETHER?
HOW LEGAL & FINANCIAL SERVICES ARE WORKING TOGETHER (OR NOT!)

Penguin Wealth, the preferred supplier of wealth management advice for Cardiff & District Law Society, has its fingers on the pulse in terms of the realities of legal and financial service cross-pollination thanks to its collaborations with leading lights in both sectors.

Something that recently caught the eye of Penguin is an article by David Ingram, the Managing Director of SIFA, following his work on a proposal coming in next year from the SRA. This article was published in a magazine that goes out to over 5,000 UK financial services professionals.
