There was a full house at the retail store for the Taste of Persia Meet & Eat last Wednesday. Taste of Persia: A Cook's Travels Through Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Iran, and Kurdistan by Naomi Duguid is an award winning book, and it was easy to see why. The food was delicious, and the recipes were creative and easy to follow.
There were too many great dishes to list them all, but here are a few standouts from the evening: Azeri Mushrooms, Topknot Dumplings with Garlic-Vinegar Dipping Sauce, Onion Salad with Barberries, Cabbage Dolmas, Tart-Sweet Apricot and Raisin Relish, Classic Pomegranate-Walnut Chicken Stew and Kurdish Golden Rice. And for dessert the Persian Rice Pudding, Apricot-Walnut Pastry and Oasis Baqlava.
