ALL SAINTS DAY // Sunday, November 5 // This year for All Saints Sunday, we will be reminded of the many Saints who have entered the church triumphant this past year.  In addition to the ways that we have celebrated All Saints Day in the past, with special prayers, and remembrances, you are invited to bring a picture of loved ones who you wish to remember for the service.  The photographs can be any size, frame or unframed, color or black and white.  We will display these around the sanctuary during the service, and then you can take the pictures home with you after the service.  Please consider including anyone whom you wish to remember, regardless of whether he/she passed away last week, or 50 years ago.  Thank you for helping to make our All Saints Service special and meaningful.

NEXT MEETING FOR QUILTING LUTHERAN WORLD RELIEF BANQUETS // November 6 // 1:00 pm //  ALL ARE WELCOME regardless of skill (none needed).  We will be piecing together quilts to go around the world to people in need.  Also, we are welcoming donations of old sheets, even if they are stained!  We hope to have your extra hands with this wonderful project.  Any questions call, Carolyn Konnert 317-567-0872.

YOUTH ACTIVITY BOARD //  Looking for something fun and meaningful to do this weekend?  Take a moment to look at the Youth Activity Board.  It has been updated with the fall schedules for many of our youth.  Football, Band, Cross Country?  Whatever your interest, we have a youth who is interested in it as well.  They love the support of their church family cheering them on

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE SEPTEMBER IK SYNOD* COUNCIL MEETING // Reported by Vicky Carron // New council members were introduced and oriented. (SOC member Vicky Carron is one new council member).
Four Priorities: Current work and opportunities regarding the synod’s four priorities were discussed (Develop and support missionary leaders; Cultivate congregations as mission centers; Expand and deepen collaboration and communication; and Form and send faith-filled disciples).
TEEM Program: Collaborative work was approved involving the IK Synod and Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary, to extend access to Theological Education for Emerging Ministries (TEEM). TEEM offers an alternative path to ELCA ordination, not requiring a Master’s of Divinity degree, for those serving as lay ministers of congregations.
Grace and Hope Fellowship: Work was approved to reach out and organize a group of Christians at Pendleton Correctional Industrial Facility (Pendleton) with the goal of growing this group into an organized ELCA congregation called Grace and Hope Fellowship. This group will need support from congregations like Servants of Christ.
Please remember to pray for our synod and its leaders.

*The IK Synod is the regional body of ELCA Lutheran Churches spanning Indiana and Kentucky, of which Servants of Christ is one. More information at iksynod.org.
