Insane Hypertrophy

If you’ve been with us for a while, you know we harp on “change to gain” a lot, especially for those who want insane hypertrophy…

It pays BIG muscle dividends to periodically alter your workouts—sometimes radically. And, yes, even we get stuck in ruts and forget to rotate in some new hypertrophy smart bombs…

Like TORQ—that stands for Tension-Overload Repetition Quantity. 

One reason we conveniently forget about TORQ is that it hurts like a mo-fo. But it never fails to trigger muscle swole and insane hypertrophy almost immediately…

Jonathan recently went back to TORQ and is experiencing impressive new size gains—even though he’s advanced, with more than 20 years of training under his belt.

Using TORQ for even a week or two can do wonders for jolting freaky hypertrophy thunder…

One of the big reasons is because it gets growth revved in slow-twitch fibers, something most bodybuilding routines neglect—which is a big mistake…

As muscle-building researcher Jerry Brainum said recently:

"It's now known that type-1 [slow-twitch] fibers are also capable of showing a significant level of muscular hypertrophy."

If you’re not maxing out slow-twitch growth, you're leaving lots of freak-physique mass on the table…

There are a few versions of TORQ—but we like three sets per exercise…

Version 1: Pick a weight that allows you 25 to 30 reps at failure. Rest 30 seconds, then take the same weight and try to get 20. Rest 30 seconds one last time and try to get 12. (You use the same weight all the way through.)

Version 2: Pick a weight that allows you 25 to 30 reps at failure. Rest 30 seconds + add weight. Now try to get 12 reps. Rest 30 seconds and increase the weight one last time. Go for 8 on that third set.

Try TORQ for a few weeks. You could do it on the last exercise for a muscle or do entire workouts with TORQ or Super-TORQ (more on that in a future e-zine)…

Either way, you'll get mega pumps and incredible change to gain with hypertrophy that’s insane.
