It is with great gratitude and anticipation that we write this note to you. We’re delighted to be getting in touch to let you know that we have just signed, exchanged and completed our purchase of the Irving Building on Hertford Street at the end of a robust competitive bidding process. As you know, this has been a long journey for us in our search for a new home in the heart of East Oxford and our vision to serve the local area.
The building came back on the market early last year with the owners and trustees, the PCC of St Mary and St John Church, keen that the building would provide considerable community benefit in the future. Providing this benefit to the community was at the heart of our vision for the building; not only providing us with a new and larger home but providing better facilities to serve and build the local community right here in the heart of East Oxford.
However, this is really just the beginning of our journey – there is much to do to transform this old primary school into the home and hub it will become. We are keen to consult, listen and interact with you and other residents, local businesses and groups and to keep you ‘in the loop’ as we move forward with this exciting development.
