Week at a Glance

"Bidden or unbidden, God is present"

--Karl Jung

Dear <<Name>>,
If you take time to read the New Testament you quickly find the values of Jesus being expressed in parables and stories. You uncover how Jesus lived and called people around him to live. Jesus reminded the disciples of the greater things they would do in his name, but that it would require following the path set out by Jesus. The path of Jesus requires walking the walk instead of just talking the talk.  As people of faith, how we live is vital to experience God in ways we never dreamed possible. Living out our faith must reflect our life; or, is it our life must reflect our faith?

Let me just ask you today, if an inventory of your life was taken right now, what would your life reflect?  How would your faith fair? How would the God in you be reflected?

The longer I live the more I know how short and precious life really is. We don’t have time to be messing around with the trivial things that often occupy our thoughts and time. From my experience living a life of faith is not always the easiest road to walk. But for sure, it is the most amazing and the most beneficial.

I have had my share of faith questions and dips along the way. I think that most people have similar experiences. I am thankful God is faithful and doesn’t repay me for my downfalls. I think, in faith and in life, the best thing we can do is to get back up once we have slipped. We can quit blaming others for things and get back to what we are supposed to be doing! And you know what, when you do that reconciliation happens and we learn to forgive each other. You learn to live fully in the truth of Christ, the truth that has set you free in the first place.

In closing I would like to share with you a few verses that can empower you, if you choose to live into them.

Matthew 11:28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

2 Corinthians 5:7 “For we live by faith, not by sight.”

Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
