FCCLA Chapters Advancing their Communities

The Cannon County FCCLA Chapter worked with the Feed the Children center, filling 2 of the center’s 10 trucks that will make their way to Florida to assist victims of Hurricane Irma. Thank you, Cannon County for representing Tennessee FCCLA so well!

Warren County High School has also been hard at work helping Hurricane victims! The Warren County FCCLA chapter raised $2805.20 to go directly to the victims of Hurricane Harvey. Thank you, Warren County FCCLA for sharing the Tennessee spirit with those affected by Hurricane Harvey!

Public Review and Comment of Tennessee FCCLA By-laws

During the summer 2017 Tennessee FCCLA Advisory Council meeting, the Tennessee FCCLA Advisory Council members reviewed the initial draft of the proposed revision of the Tennessee FCCLA By-laws.

The Tennessee FCCLA By-laws are under review after an audit performed by National FCCLA highlighted some discrepancies and areas of improvement. Tennessee FCCLA was thus encouraged to revisit the existing by-laws and to enact revisions as necessary. Although no major changes were made, the Tennessee FCCLA Advisory Council wishes to provide both the existing by-laws and proposed by-law revisions to the delegation. A public comment period will be open now through Nov. 30.

Following the public comment period, revisions will be made, and a final copy will be available to review by Feb. 20. Students will have opportunities to make motions on adoptions of the revisions at the FCCLA State Leadership Conference.

You can find the existing by-laws here.
Revised by-laws can be found here.

You can leave any comments or concerns through this survey.

District STAR Event Registration

District STAR Event registration will be open Nov. 6 and close Dec. 15. District STAR Events will take place throughout the state from January to February. All students must be affiliated with FCCLA to compete at the District STAR Events.

District STAR Events are one-day conferences that include leadership development, competition, and recognition for FCCLA members. In order to compete at the State Leadership Conference, students must have qualified at their respective District STAR Event.
