Ears to Hear

As we wrap up a season listening through the Psalms, our daily scripture journey will soon join up with our new Sunday sermon series. "The Next Time I Look at You, You’ll be in a Pine Box!..."

I first heard those words as a child, during a family dispute in the small Pennsylvania town where most of my relatives lived. I didn’t understand their literal meaning, but I definitely experienced their aftermath: no more Christmas dinners together, no more vacations with extended family, and especially the sense of loss I felt at age six, walking away from my aunt and uncle’s home after they refused to let us play with our cousins. A deep, permanent break had occurred.

Although I’ve never made a “pine box” declaration, I learned other ways to cut off people...

Vietnam Container is on its Way!

Thank you so much, church family, for allowing God to use you to pull off a miracle. I know it doesn't rise to the level of the parting of the Red Sea but never-the-less, when I was told we needed 600 volunteers to pack 100,000 meal packets for Vietnam, it seemed impossible. Then when they told me it all had to be done in one day and that day was only four weeks away...

Sunday, October 13 - November 10

Join us for five Friday nights starting October 13. Each five-week class is $15 for individuals, $30 for couples. Childcare and a catered dinner are available for a very modest extra charge (the cost is supplemented by EvFree). Dinner is served in the Commons starting at 5:45pm. Come have a family meal, or take the kids to childcare and have a quiet dinner yourselves before your class. You can pre-pay online for any, or all of the five dinners at a discounted price. D-Amphitheater Renovation

The D-Amp renovation is moving along well as walls are framed and the tech booth and stage are in the process of being built. The last few weeks demo crews, A/C experts, drywallers, framers, electricians, plumbers have been hard at work and we remain on schedule. Our excitement continues to grow for the future ministry this room will allow us to have!

All of our Bite Size groups for the fall are currently full. Our apologies if you had wanted to join in but were unable to. Watch eNews for the launch date for the next round of Bite Size after the first of the year!

American Friendship Training

Sunday October 8, 1:00-3:00pm in C-212

Come learn how to ​share God's love and ​be a friend to an International Student!  Guest speaker, Stephanie Calley, Director of Global Student Programs and Development at Biola, will share on the topic of cultural sensitivity. Join Men's Collective

Imagine something you love – mountain biking, working on cars, drinking good coffee, or watching football.  What if you could get to know other men at EvFree while doing something you enjoy? We are looking to launch a few men’s collectives designed around the idea that men connect best over a shared experience. OC United Jobs for Life

In August 2017, OC UNITED launched a Jobs for Life program at the Orange County Homeless Shelter called "Bridges at Kraemer Place". This program offers professional development, mentorship, and job opportunity to those experiencing homelessness. Click here to learn more!

OC United Pumpkin Run

Saturday, October 21, 6:30am at Juanita Cooke and Hilcher Trails

100% of proceeds will go towards educational programs to help    at-risk kids in Fullerton. We will be collecting book donations, so bring your favorite children’s book!
Medals, food, kids zone, and festivities including pie eating contests, pumpkin painting, and more will take place a short cool-down walk away at Fullerton High School Stadium.
