Community Woodlands Survey
The CSGN community woodlands survey aims to create a better connected community woodlands network to improve ways in which local groups can support and learn from each other in order to safeguard and develop these valuable community resources.
The term 'community woodland group' for our purposes is defined as 'a community-led group which takes an active role in the management of a woodland which it might own or lease, or work in with the owner's permission.' This definition might include a 'Friends of' group which agrees an annual work programme, but excludes a regular volunteer group organised and supervised by a ranger who sets tasks for each session.
We are interested in hearing from both community woodlands groups and residents in the CSGN area. The survey can be accessed at:

Findings will allow us to better understand community woodland engagement from the structure of groups through to the issues they face and any barriers in progressing towards community ownership or management.
