Brighton Rec Area

Please take a few moments to familiarize yourself with the race venue for the Newton Timing 2017 MiSCA Brighton Recreation Area (State Championship) Race. One major announcement the other day was that the Hamburg Police will be closing a section of Bishop Lake Rd during our event. No worries, you'll still be able to enter/leave the parking lot when the road closes at 9:45am - you will just need to use Bauer Rd instead of Chilson Rd. Additionally, the course map changed somewhat since the last issue of the MiSCA Update and we've defined the infield area and start/finish more precisely. We're asking anyone who is loading/unloading into the team areas to please arrive prior to 8:30am, so we can clear the road ASAP. This is sure to be our biggest race ever - don't miss out!

How do Series Standings work?

With only 1 race left, make sure you understand how the standings work in the D&D Bicycles 2017 MiSCA Race Series. Riders are awarded points after each race, based on their finish place. 1st place receives the most points (35), 2nd place (30), 3rd place (27) and the trend continues with fewer points awarded for the remaining riders. Students only need to start 3 races to qualify for awards, but MiSCA calculates the overall score based on a student's top 4 races. Make sure you check your standings to make sure there are no unexpected issues. The leader in each category will be awarded the MiSCA State Championship, with Series awards to the top 3.

Helping our Fellow Riders!

We are committed to making our events accessible to everyone, regardless of their financial situation, to the best of our ability. We reviewed applications for financial assistance and were able to approve all of the requests! Scholarships awarded covered the entire race entry fees for the all races in the D&D Bicycles 2017 MiSCA Race Series. This is the first year we've offered this and we couldn't do it without the help from our supporters and sponsors. THANK YOU!

MiSCA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization hosting mountain bike events throughout Michigan for elementary, middle, and high school-aged students. We rely heavily on our Volunteers, Sponsors, and Donors to be able to provide the great programs we offer. If you can, please make a contribution today or sign up to volunteer!
