The California Accountable Communities for Health Initiative (CACHI)an ambitious effort to modernize the state’s health system and build a healthier California for all residents, is now underway in 15 communities across the state. To help support and strengthen their work, more than 120 people connected to the initiative gathered recently for an inspiring and informative two-day convening. READ MORE

Dianne Debicella

As a new Program Director at Community Partners, Dianne Debicella oversees a portfolio of fiscally sponsored projects, manages re-granting programs for government clients, and assists on providing intermediary services to funder collaboratives, foundations, and government clients. READ MORE


Chikako Yamauchi

As the Program Evaluator at Community Partners, Chikako is creating an evaluation framework for our fiscal sponsorship program as well as serving as a resource to our fiscally sponsored projects to help them assess and address their individual evaluation needs. READ MORE

Inland Empowerment

The network of nonprofits actively advocates for policies and systems that are working to create a just, equitable and inclusive government and economy in the Inland Region (Riverside and San Bernardino counties). The member organizations in Inland Empowerment aim to build a culture of voting, civic engagement and increased regional grassroots leadership in communities throughout the region that are politically and economically underrepresented. LEARN MORE

YouthWire

Engages young people between the ages of 14-24 in a statewide network of youth media hubs in four California locations: Eastern Coachella Valley, Long Beach, Fresno and Merced. YouthWire provides media training to disconnected youth, amplifies youth voices to influence policy at local and statewide levels through digital and print publications, and encourages civic engagement through storytellling. LEARN MORE

Nature for All

Formerly known as San Gabriel Mountains Forever, the environmental coalition has re-branded and re-launched as Nature for All, a better reflection of its mission to create equitable access to nature for all Los Angelenos. READ MORE

Arts for Incarcerated Youth Network

The Chronicle of Social Change covered AIYN’s recent Create Justice summit, where all of the AIYN members (including WriteGirl’s Bold Ink Writers and Rhythm Arts Alliance) gathered to engage with youth justice advocates from around the nation. READ MORE

The Dinner Party

Emily May of The People’s Supper, a program of The Dinner Party, is among the first cohort of the Obama Foundation Fellowships. The foundation interviewed Emily and made a visit to a supper, which brings people with diverse views together for a shared meal and intimate dialogue. WATCH HERE

Building Forever Families Initiative

Executive director Esther Torrez is profiled in the UCLA Anderson Blog for her professional accomplishments and her latest endeavor, BFFI, which aims to improve visitation experiences and outcomes for children and youth in foster care. READ MORE
Program officer Eric Medina from the Weingart Foundation (and former Community Partners program director) visited our offices recently for a Meet the Funders presentation and Q&A for leaders of Community Partners projects. With Weingart’s announcement of their new equity-focused priorities, Medina gave our project leaders an exclusive look into the foundation’s interests and criteria for identifying the projects they’re most interested in supporting.

New Toolkit Puts Focus on Nonprofit Workforce 

Fund the People, a project of Community Partners, aims to maximize funder investment in the nonprofit workforce. Fund the People Toolkit is a free, online resource to help you consider the myriad options, make the case, and develop a plan for talent investing. Fund the People will also host a series of webinars to support the toolkit. Grantsmanship Training Program

October 23-27

This grant proposal writing course is geared towards social advocates looking for a hands-on experience in finding and securing foundation, private and government funding for nonprofits. For over 40 years, The Grantsmanship Center has been offering trainings and publications to help organizations make better communities. LEARN MORE


Multicultural Communities for Mobility Anniversary Celebration

November 10

For five years, MCM a project of Community Partners has been advocating and creating more walkable, bikeable, and transit accessible neighborhoods with civic partners, government agencies, and community organizations. This event will celebrate the communities they've changed, the young leaders of color they've empowered, and the supporters, volunteers and staff who make their work possible. LEARN MORE 


Noche de las Luminarias

December 2; 3:30pm-5:30pm

Local advocates, city leaders, and honorees will convene for an evening filled with good company, food and drink at Community Partners project, BikeSGV's annual awards event. Held at the transformed Jeff Seymour Family Center in the City of El Monte, the event will feature music, silent auction, raffle, and a festival format allowing attendees to socialize, explore, and celebrate the successes of community champions, volunteers and leaders.
