GENERAL INFORMATION

Chronicle orders
At the end of the year, each family receives one Chronicle. This magazine has been curated by a student-led Chronicle Committee and is shaping up to be another great issue. Each Chronicle is $30, which will be charged to your school account. If you would like more than one Chronicle (ie, one per daughter) your daughter needs to sign a form at the Administration Office.

Save the evening of Thursday 23 November
The Woodford House Parents’ Association is planning a great end of year social function for our existing parents and those who will be new to Woodford House next year. The date will be Thursday 23 November and specific details such as time and venue will be sent out shortly.

The WHPA is also excited to sell the beautiful Haha wines as a fundraiser this term, just in time for Christmas. More details will be communicated soon.

Norovirus
There is a norovirus outbreak in the Hawke’s Bay Hospital and it is very likely to be circulating in the community. Anyone with nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea or stomach cramps should stay away from work or school for 48 hours after symptoms disappear. The best way to protect against catching the virus and preventing the spread to others is thorough handwashing, before and after eating food and using toilets.

ACADEMIC

Mathematics tutorials
The Mathematics Department is offering regular tutorials in Term 4 to all students. A timetable of tutorials has been created for the first three weeks, with tutorials being run every lunch time and after school.
Download the timetable here.

This timetable has also been published in Schoology for all students to view. Girls do not need to book their tutorials in advance – they can simply turn up at times convenient for them.

Once the three week timetable is complete, tutorials can be booked with any mathematics teacher individually.

Intermediate Department Examinations
Year 7 and 8 girls will sit four examinations in Week 4. These examinations provide an opportunity to experience examination procedures and to support girls in finding their preferred study methods for the future. We know that some girls get anxious around the idea of sitting examinations and we will be explaining this rationale to the girls. A list of what to study is available on Schoology. Helpful study strategies will be covered in class and can also be found on Schoology. The best indication of the girls’ progress and achievement will take into account on-going work and assessments covered over the course of the year.

Examination Dates:
Wednesday 8 November – Mathematics and Science
Friday 10 November – English and Social Science
