‘People’ focus of rangelands conference

‘Transition to transformation’ was the theme of the 19th Biennial Australian Rangeland Society conference held in Port Augusta, South Australia last month. The program was action-packed, commencing with field trips on the first day, followed by two days of keynote presentations and plenary sessions from 26-28 September 2017. Over 200 delegates attended from all corners of the Australia rangelands. [Read more]

Yawuru IPA official ceremony held

Notification of the Dedication of the Yawuru IPA was received in January and an official ceremony was held at Sheep Camp on Roebuck Plains Station on 22 August with about 150 guests. [Read more]

Kaz Collins' School of the Air Photo Competition - Judging underway
The photo competition has just closed and we've received 103 entries from 34 kids in the five SOTAs in the WA rangelands. They'll be off to be judged over the next two weeks, so stayed tuned for the results. We've received some fabulous photos showing 'people in the rangelands'. Smart Farming Partnerships
Applications are open for share of $60m Smart Farming grants The National Landcare Program’s new Smart Farming Partnerships is offering multi-year grants of between $250,000 and $4 million to put in place new and innovative sustainable land management practices, which protect and improve the condition of soils, vegetation and biodiversity.
