Open Classroom Night
Thursday, October 18th, 5:30 - 7:00pm

Join WSMC Grades students, faculty and parents for a peak inside the classrooms.  This is an opportunity to see for yourself what all those stories are you've been hearing (or not hearing).

The evening will begin with a "Performing Assembly" where each class (2nd through 7th grade) shares a performance with guests.

Following the assembly, teachers will return to their classrooms and welcome students and parents.  We hope parents will take time to look at student work and ask questions.

At 6:30pm Class 6 & 7 will sell ice cream as a fundraiser for their 8th Grade trip.

We hope to see everyone at this fun event!  Kindergarten and Preschool families are warmly welcome as well.

*For many years WSMC has hosted an Open House event each fall.  This was a time for parents to visit classrooms and see student "performances" and hear from Waldorf teachers what makes Waldorf education unique.  We received feedback during our January Community Meeting last year that Early Childhood parents may be more likely to attend this event if it were held at a different time.  Due to this request we have added a morning Open House, to be held on Friday, November 9th.  Please mark your calendars and plan to attend!

Parent Teacher Conferences
Parent Teacher conferences are an important time for parents and teachers to meet face to face to discuss students' progress in order to best support them.  Teachers will post sign ups outside their classroom doors soon so you can sign up for a time.  Please note, childcare is available on Wednesday, October 31st to those parents who sign up for it.

Enchanted Pumpkin Path
So many parents have signed up to help with our Enchanted Pumpkin Path.  Thank you!  We ask for EVERY family to work one shift PER student.  Please sign up now!  Anyone not signed up by Friday will be assigned a shift.

TIckets to the path are on sale now online, in the office and at Cat's Meow in Willits and the Ukiah Book Company.  Buy your ticket early to get the time slot you prefer.

Class 6 & 7 Fundraising
Thank you for all your support of Class 6 & 7 as they fundraise for their 8th grade trip, which they hope to spend in Washington DC.  The following fundraisers are happening now, or soon:

Hot Lunch - beginning Tuesday, October 23rd.  Order forms  are available in the office and may be returned there with payments.  Order for the whole year or week by week.  Lunches are $6 each and must be preordered one week ahead.  Vegetarian and beef tacos with topings, green salad and tea.

Firewood Raffle - Excellent odds (only 200 tickets being sold) to win a cord of dry oak firewood delivered and stacked.  Drawing on November 2nd, delivery on November 4th.  Tickets on sale through October 31 (unless we sell out before then).  Tickets available from any student in Class 6 & 7.

Snow Cones - On sale Fridays after school in October - only two more weeks!  You can also find us at the Hometown Celebration in downtown Willits on Friday, October 19th.

Christmas Bulb orders - Preorders will be available soon for beautiful bulbs to give as Christmas gifts.

Ice Cream! - available at the Open Classroom night, Thursday, October 18th.
