The Kule Folklore Centre and CIUS  would like to invite you to join us at a special Alberta documentary premiere that has been produced by the children of one of our most prolific donors,  Wasyl Kuryliw about his life.   Oksana Kuryliw and her husband John Leeson made this documentary to honor her father - a charismatic man who came to Canada with $5 dollars in his pocket and through his sheer determination and ingenuity became "Action Bill" who championed Ukrainian Canadian culture and causes.
Wasyl, who had a great love for the Ukrainian poet Ivan Franko, established the Wasyl and Anna Kuryliw Family Fund Ivan Franko Scholarship that has benefited the academic education of the majority of the students from the Ukrainian Folklore program.
